Default Neteller Payments Could take 6 months!

Apparently Neteller now says it could take up to 6 months to get money out! Also, they do not work weekends?! What the hell? Majorweb.com is reporting that neteller is trying to work out a deal with the DOJ....

Is it dangerous for some reason to have neteller EFTs pending? Should I try to cancel those or would that just send me to the back of the line again?

You have gone through quite the transformation azkid. Just 4 days ago you were making your first post:

But I am not worried, everybody needs to calm down. Remember, Neteller is a huge publicly traded company. They aren't going anywhere, I'm convinced our money is perfectly safe and I can think of a million legit reasons that they are having these delays. Maybe it is, as they say, a volume issue. Or maybe the bank they use won't process payments to US accounts. Yes, it's disconcerting that they discontinued the DC. Yes, it's annoying that they can provide no clear timeframe. But if they wanted to stiff us, then why not just stiff us now and disappear? I suspect they're really working hard to fix this problem and I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt on this one. Give it a few weeks. They have good excuses.

Everybody calm down. You will get your money...eventually.

I never thought we would se it happen to neteller, but it looks like neteller is going the way of betonsports. FIrst Neteller lied about backlogs due to volume. THen 2 week delays became 2 month delays and now 2months delays have become 6 months delays. Clearly what has happened is that the DOJ is after them, and they are trying to use us as bargaining chips.

At the end of the day, the DOJ will win the battle, Neteller will be forced to close, and more than likely anyone who has funds in neteller will lose thier money

Being sent to the back of the line makes no difference whatsoever. If the line ever starts moving again, everyone will be fine. If not, we're screwed. Personally, I doubt EFTs will ever go through, but they may figure out a way to get checks out.

So, if you have a way to move your funds to a non-American you trust, and you don't mind eating some fees, cancel the EFTs. If not, it really doesn't matter.

Neteller is crazy to mess with gamblers on this scale. If the 6 month rumor is true, the US government could be the least of their worries.

Why can't they just mail checks? Or does that make too much sense? Billions in profits, so they can eat the mailing and check costs.

I'm just glad I did a peer to peer transfer with a non-U.S. member...I think more people should look into them...

Why don't you guys try making an official complaint via the Isle of Man financial ombudsman.

    http://www.gov.im/oft/ombudsman/

Admittedly they may not actually be able to do anything about the situation, but it seems worth trying.

You have to have made a complaint to the company that supplied the financial service (i.e. Neteller) and not received a satisfactory answer before you can go to the Ombudsman.

Neteller is trying to shut those options off, and are also freezing the accounts of non-US players helping out. That was included in the story about neteller trying to make a deal with DOJ.

The somewhat-official word from Neteller now is that peer-to-peer is fine if the money is withdrawn, NOT sent to a gaming merchant.

Of course, Neteller's "official word" these days tends to have an expiration date of several hours.

Just posted this on another forum. By the way they strongly denied that it would take six months.

    ---
Just wanted to pass on some information. Take it for what it's worth as it seems Neteller has something different to say depending on who you happen to talk to...

Early this morning I made my friendly daily call to Neteller to bother them and get updates. I asked some specific questions about P2P transfers and what the non-U.S. member can do with the money afterwards.

I got put on hold for a while so she could get answers from higher up. I was told that not only do they have a problem with transfers to gambling sites, but now they don't even want that money deposited back into the non-U.S. customer's bank account. I asked what would happen if someone tried doing that. She said the account could be closed and the withdrawal request would probably get rejected. I asked what good that money was then and she replied it could be used with non-gaming merchants.

I tend to think it's a load of [censored] but who knows. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Alternatively, US Citizens could stand up for their rights, and hold their leader responsible. I guess that is asking too much

Hilarious these clowns think they are the free-est country on the planet, and want to bring their "FLAVOR" of Democracy/Liberty to the rest of the world.

No wonder no one wants them.

I made it out by a week, taking out most of my BR, just because I wasn't going to open any new accounts and cleaning out my old accounts. Stupid Pinnacle domino kinda screwed me. I move a few hundred out of Pinnacle just to get it stuck in Neteller. I still expect to get paid, just when is the question. Neteller isn't BOS.

With the Poker boom there is so much money in Neteller, I really don't know how they will ever get it back to US players given that no bank will be willing to work with them. If it was just sportsbooks that would be one thing, but there could be billions with poker accounts that needs to come back. How will they ever do it?

The odds at this point of Neteller even being in business 6 months form now is around +300

Once new payment proccessors are in place, merhcnat will flee from neteller. No one wants to maintain any significant balance in neteller any more. And if Neteller can't provide merchants with US cusomters, then netelelr isn't adding much added value

More importantly, there is a high likelyhood that Neteller will face a fedral indictment, and then that will be the end of them

    your thinking makes sense, but..
for example moneybookers ceased US operations shortly before NT and they do not seem to disappear from bookies or market and they also violated US law + they have much lower volume than NT

    +300 is too much
