BetPhoenix Question
I just started using BP and used my freeplay on a football player prop yesterday. I had no idea that was against the rules.
I won the freeplay and the money was awarded, but since that was against the rules apparently, I'm curious what BP will do when I request a payout.
Anyone here have any insight on this?

if the software allows it then it should be paid.
i don't think you will have any problems at all with a payout after you complete the rollover
what was the prop?

Yea it is better, to let them know, and at worst lose the money from your freeplay. Than win a load to have it all taken away. You wont feel as bad taking the first hit. Beside the likelyhood of a book taking a little bit is small, they have little to gain. Whereas if you build a nice bankroll from it, than they have a big incentive to retroactively take it away.

The Free-play that you made was against the rules stated for sure. Please email me to see what we can work out on this.
Thanks,
Richard

How difficult is it to make the software reject a prop play when the player clicks free play?

I know somebody who got screwed by this as well- bet some kind of large parlay or teaser, won it, and the payout was severely reduced- but if he lost, they're happy for him to lose it. Having your software accept bets that you know, in advance, you have no intention of honoring (if and only if they win) is bush league. That's Oddsmaker and BFC style.

Is there any way to see the rules before we buy freeplays at different sites ....and can you explain the roll over very clearly....will it be 7x the free play or 7x the free play and the winnings. Can you parlay or bet props or just str bets. Last year i got a 700 free play from BetOnline and it had roll over on the free play and the winnings and the orginal deposit then they wanted 100 to cash me out lol ....now i dont bet there. (plus the manager George was a dik)
I just want to know the WHOLE story before I get in any way we can get a rules thread for free plays I think they will be popular here

BP,
Most books don't have a rule against so many kinds of free-plays (although some do).
Instead of just having this in the T&C, could BP limit free plays made to legal ones? This would save you a lot of headaches and negative PR.

I totally agree Justin. The free play should be for all plays available that they have. It is sad that this is an issue. If I was BP here I would change it for all plays then it would be better.

There is nothing wrong with limiting a free play. The problem arises when a player thinks he has a bet, and later finds out his winning wager violated a term or condition.
Oddsmaker (rated D-) does this all the time. Having this type of freeplay - you can lose, but not win - is simply not fair.
If your software cannot limit it, you could at least put up a message when a player makes any freeplay:
"Warning - freeplays are restricted in these ways:...
If this play violates this rule, you won't be paid".
That's not as good as fixing it with software, but both are preferable to Oddsmaker's method.

I know we programmed in restrictions on the new system for moneylines, teasers, and parlays. I have to see about prop limitations though.

One more question Richard....Since this is something new say I got a 100 freeplay from this site for BP I would have 7x rolls on the 100 7x roll on the winnings off the 100 but do I have to make any deposit before I withdraw? That is once the terms are met.......and I see you take parlays on free plays right?

Exactly. BFC and other books do this with correlated parlays -- they wait to see how it turns out before permitting/disallowing the play. If it loses, they're perfectly happy to let the bet stand. But if it wins, they come in after the fact and cancel it. Complete BS. I was planning on loading up BetPhx before bowl season too. I may wait a little now.

I don't see why a Ray Rice prop bet should be a big deal? It's not like he played a 20-1 shot prop!
Prop bets should be encouraged since they have more juice, hence, they are more favorable to the book!
If books don't want you to use prop bets with free plays, then they are pansies!
Free plays are best used on parlays or heavy money line dogs, since you only get the winnings from the play. Using free plays on on regular bets are a huge disadvantage to the player.

BetPhx,
I cashed out 300 points last night for a $100 freeplay at your book. How long until it's in my account? Do I need to do anything else?
