SBR will be holding a Breeders Cup handicapping contest sponsored by our friends at Carib giving you a chance to win your share of $500 in prize money!

If you do not yet have an account at Carib, you can sign up for one here. You must then PM me with your account number so that validation can be confirmed.

Prizes will be:
$300 for 1st
$150 for 2nd
$50 for 3rd

Rules for the contest:

There will be a total of 14 races - Six races on Friday, November 6 and eight races on Saturday, November 7

* You will have a fictitious $500 bankroll to use throughout the 14 races on the two racing days.
- At least $100 of it must be used among the six Friday races. If not, $100 will be deducted from you bankroll AND any winnings from Friday.
- No more than $50 may be used on any one race with the exception of the Breeders Cup Classic on Saturday which can have up to $100 used.
- Any unrisked funds from the bankroll are deducted as a loss.

* Win, Place, and Exacta wagering only
* $2 minimum for win and place. $1 minimum for exactas
* Winning wagers will include the "profit" added to your total and the money risked will be returned your bankroll total - but neither can be used for further wagers.
* Losing wagers will be subtracted from the bankroll.
* If a horse is scratched in your wager, your wager is refunded and can be re-used on the same race or another race. If the funds remain unrisked at the end of the contest, they will be deducted from your bankroll total.
* Picks threads will be open on Thursday, November 5 for all races and posts with picks can be made up until the specified time in the thread on raceday.

Winners will be determined by top three bankrolls achieved over the 14 races of action - according to the rules outlined. Reload and SBR reserve the right to add or modify to the rules as needed and any decisions made otherwise are final.

I'll make sure the picks threads are open as early as possible, tblues. They will at least be open Thursday so that picks can be entered Thursday evening for either Friday or Saturday's races.

This contest is going to be won by someone just guessing on longshots. With all the people doing that, someone will get lucky! So the handicapping contest is really just a crap shoot.

Collecting on exactas could be the key to victory here, Richkas. But there is a $50 cap in each race except for the classic so there's only so many combinations that can be used.
