The amount of spam e-mail I am getting has gone way down. It built up over time to the point where I was getting around 100 pieces of crap a day. Pharmaceuticals, fake rolexes, penis enlargement, stock tips, guys phishing . . .

I assume it related to spammers getting their hands on sportsbook client lists.

But the spam started to decrease a few weeks ago and the number is down to about 25 a day right now - and sinking.

Does it somehow relate to the recent industry meltdown? I don't know, but the spam reduction coincides with the industry fireworks exactly.

Okay it's not much of a silver lining but it's something.

Gmail (from google) is a great e-mail system. It filters the spam in a separate file from your inbox. One click and it's gone. Haven't seen any real messages fall into the spam category yet.
