As one +EV tout to another it was cool to hear him answer my question so well in the first video. I've only handicapped the NFL and was wondering how the math equated to college results, as we have similar NFL models from what I've read and from his plays I've seen over the years. Thanks, Bob.

    Peter,

Fantastic stuff. Dr. Bob is the single best paid handicapper out there (IMO). I'm actually surprised that he made time to do this every week, but glad to hear what he says.

    Keep it up.

Even by his own admission he hasn't had a very good 2009 season. That could explain for the lack of page views.

I'm listening to these things but I just can't seem to understand it all though, is there a place here that could let me understand these things and learn how to start trying to cap some games myself instead of relying on others.

Good luck. You talk to 100 'cappers and you'll get 100 different opinions on how to do it. From "math" models to flipping a coin and everything in between.

His methodoligy is the soundest of any capper I have ever seen though, and there is a reason he still moves lines with a 50% win rate. He'll be around 55% by year's end though.

I would consider RAS the best, but obviously they're playing a much softer market in NCAAB totals.

    RAS kills NCAAF Totals too.

As a EV- bettor...I see the NFL and NCAAF as two completely different entities thus the need for different way of evaluating expectations. Yes, both are motivated to win but you can't ignore the emotional aspect of college football.

Why is it "given" that CAR on the road is going to win and cover against Houston??

I see the stats... nothing is a "given".. whats your take Dr. Bob?

This is what happens when you follow computer models instead of human brains.

Anyone who calls themselves doctor and goes 1-4 should quick giving picks on college football. Actually if you don't hit 50% of your plays without even capping then you don't know what you are doing. Stats are meaningless because teams don't play the same strength opponents. Look at South Florida. They were ranked, 5-0 but who the **** did they beat? 5 of the worst teams in the country. How do you tell your computer model that the yardage and turnovers are bogus for this team? Then Cincinnati goes and whips their asses because the ****ing computer model had South Florida as the better team with more yardage and turnovers.

Anyone who pays money to touts should be banned from gambling.

Dr. Bob DOES take schedule into consideration, just listen to his analysis. He oftentimes says that such and such team is averaging 4.2 yards per rush vs. teams that normally allow 3.9 yards per rush, shit like that.

    LT,

I'm 15-6 the last 3 weeks and have been out of the country the first two weeks of the season so I didn't watch any games. I don't have a model, don't read stats and the only analysis I do is watching games and judge talent with my own eyes. I don't need a ****ing model to tell me who the best team is when I cap a game. I can see with my own eyes which QB is good and which blows and which defense is good and which one is soft.

No offense pavy, but I'd play Dr. Bob's picks before yours. My group has made a small fortune playing his stuff over the years.

And I would play mine before paying for Dr. Bob's. My group is banned in many books.
