Default Why is Matchbbok rated "B"

Just wondering why Matchbook is rated "B"? Since Pinnacles closure to US customers, it seems that many people have moved to Matchbook. What are they lacking to get to an "A" rating?

Thats a good question MAB. However, since I don't make the grades so I can't answer the question. I'm sure John or Bill will answer your question soon enough though.

Good question. Maybe the lack of liquidity and variety of wager types?

Lack of liquidity is definitely a problem.

They are a relatively new operation thus don't have the history of an A level book such as Pinnacle,CRIS,Greek, etc.

acw, re you referring to the time lag between when you buy and when your purchase is accepted (or not accepted)? Or something else?

It can be frustrating to strike at something and have it pulled away. The explanation I have heard is that -- to avoid an unfair advantage to a player with a superior internet hookup or a broadcast of the game slightly ahead -- there is a waiting period. In other words, if you make an offer in live betting you can still pull it back up to two seconds after the time that somebody has accepted it.

Not quite, when you submit an offer, it doesn't hit the exchange for two seconds, thus the other person can cancel the offer before yours matches it.

    Jay,

It has happened twice to me that when placing a bet my screen froze for about a minute. There was nothing I could do other than just look at the screen. After that minute a message from Matchbook would pop-up that there was some error, I would have to refresh the Internet explorer, etc. Needless to say that the bet was taken when it was beneficial to them.

I have had the line change on me AFTER the confirmation click. Line confirmed at a worse number and nothing I could do.

Come football season, I am going to have a lot of questions on Matchbook. I've never used an exchange....

    Yes.
A much better description of it, Santo.

Liquidity is up since January 11, in the NBA at least.
Though when I bounce over to NCAAB it still looks like a ghost town.

Americans just not into exchanges and they never will be, liquidity will always be on the low side.
