Default How safe do you think your $$$ is at Matchbook ?

    Compared to CRIS or GREEK

    100%

    80%

    60?

I'm not sure how you could assign an exact percentage but I would definitely put it below 100% in comparison to Cris or Greek and, I would guess, that the difference is probably pretty small... One would think, since they are an exchange, that as long they don't abuse their cash holdings that balances should be safe...

95%...problem for most players isn't getting money out of Matchbook but getting it into Matchbook (bankwires are a pain for U.S. players)

I often have 4-5 figures in Matchbook and have not thought once that it might not be safe.

About as safe as they are at WSEX, IMO.

Perfectly safe. They send check that cost $9 in 3-4 days. Never had anything but professional dealings with any of their people. First class organization.

i hope they're safe cause i intend on leaving a decent amount in there for a while. but you never know in life.. bigger name books have gone down in the past.. so anythings possible..i pray they never go down cause i will never bet offshore again if i lose matchy. we need matchy.. betting into 10 cent lines in baseball will never be good again after having got spoiled with 3 cent lines or better..

how can i ever bet again into a 10 cent line in bases after that.

but i will lower my balance there and never have what i had there a few months ago again. i have to be more cautious.

mikey, what do you mean by Casutions? what are casutions?

oh, if you meant cautious, i meant to keep less money there than before cause you never know offshore.. anything can happen. i've been stiffed by books that were bigger than The Royal Bank Of Canada..

i will lower my risk by lowering my balance at matchy by a bit. not saying they are not good, but i just want to play on the safe side after that whole WSEX fiasco..

How can anybody leave a large balance in there after the WSEX complaints is beyond me.

Their overhead can not be as high as most high volume books. And their risk is 0% , if they had nothing to with WSEX I am sure no would think twice about them. I feel very comfortable with them but still should make more withdrawls.

I agree with that 100% - they dont have to employ expensive lines managers to maintain their lines which makes the operation os much simpler.

the million $ question is how the demise of WSEX is going to effect them?

the weird thing is that 5 min ago, i had 10k transferred to a book and it was done in 1 min..way faster than usual.

so i don't know what to think here. not saying go ahead and send them $$, but it was not a bad sign.

If Matchbook ever goes down I am done with offshore gambling period end of story...unless BetMaker takes off and reduces their commissions a little...

NOT if they extend credit - and it appears that they do. That puts their risk above and beyond that of a traditional sportsbook IMO, cause their margins are razor-thin to begin with.

Matchbook is the best book by far for MLB, NFL moneylines. I bet the NYG -860 against the laughable Raiders.

I would like to know who is backing Matchbook. They definitely seed the market, so do not think they have 0% risk.

Matchbook deals in credit accounts also which scares me a little and new credit not like Greek and Cris that are masters of credit business.

    thespeculator,

what's the percentage of $ when you deposit that they convert to commission credits after the deposit? I don't especially like commission credits since I post offers 95% of the time rather than accepting them but I would like to know this info...

is Bookmaker a good sportsbook? I just started doing business in the past 2 months. Never been able to do a withdrawl; guess that's bad betting, but, that's another story. hahaha
