Since this contest is graded based upon how many units you win I think it would be fair if a contestant who goes 4-0 on a week that the Prick goes 4-0 should still be eligible to win money as long as they have more units then The Prick.

After all, people who tied the prick did not get paid out anything, so why if they tie the prick going 4-0 should they not be rewarded anything?

Plus it would allow for some juicy prizes split among a few people. If the Prick did happen to go 4-0 and so did 15 other people, but 5 of them had more units. 5 people would be splitting the 5k.

I've been playing like shit this contest and so has the prick, I just feel the week I go 4-0 so will the prick.

Anybody involved in this contest should note this. It would suck to go 4-0 and the prick going 4-0 with you beating him on units, but still not getting a penny.

SBR needs to change this rule. If you do happen to go 4-0 and are ahead of the prick in units you should be rewarded.

It happens every year. He goes 4-0 and you hope thats not when you do it also. I don't have a problem with the way it is now. His reward for doing the writeups and being the star attraction of the contest is that if he is 4-0, he gets all the money.
Having someone who goes 4-0 and beats him in units by .05 get maybe $1000 or more when someone who goes 4-0 with units equal his gets 0 doesn't seem right. At the lower levels the difference between tying him and nosing him out by .05 or so is not as extreme. This week it was a difference of $14 - not enough to get too upset about if you tied him and got 0.

The Prick's shtick is based on the concept that he has a chance at taking the $5000 and shutting out the players. If this rule change was made, he would almost never have a chance for cash as the top unit-getter of all the many 4-0's every week. There would be no point in The Prick capping games. He would just take the 4 lines with the biggest juice and hope they came through. That would be his only chance.

I guess they could do that. It would take a lot of the personality out of the contest. However it is hard to be against the idea of spreading as much money as possible among players.

Bottom line for me: leave it alone. Let The Prick do his thing. We need more Prick not less Prick. Gawd help me, I like that filthy bastage.

Right, the spirit of the contest is such that when the Prick bests the field by putting up a perfect record, he wins. While we have evolved with our contest software and dynamic lines, the core objective of the contest remains the same.

100% agree with Lou here... The whole point of the contest is to BTP, if he goes 4-0, just because you got a + juice line or something doesnt entitle you to winning...

This is a great contest, what you are suggesting is just plain Greed...

This is done on purpose to limit book's potential losses. You have 100 squares betting $50 per bet from their winnings VS having 10 sharps betting $500 per bet from their winnings.
