Default Watch out for books gambling on the SB

What happened with a book several years back they took a position on the superbowl, then went out of business when that position lost.

For example, a book may make the line -7.5 instead of -7. This of course attracts a lot of action on Chicago, and the book is gambling rather than balancing action.

If Indianapolis covers the -7.5, then the book will win a lot of money. If Chicago wins the book simply goes out of business and leaves.

The two warning signs of this scam are 1) a book that is not putting up a line within the range for the consensus line on the game 2) a book that caters almost exclusively to the U.S. market - and figures with the coming sharp decline in business (end of football season and end of easy payment processing), there is nothing left any how.

I don't see any A books doing this, but it is certainly possible a book like Betmania, Hollywood, Carib, could do something like this.

Don't think Carib will scam you like that. My fedex check from them arrived in two days. Best customer service I had.
