Default Is there any reason a sportsbook can't Fedex a check to a player?

How can the gov stop this?

They can't stop that, but can they prevent your bank from accepting a check from a sportsbook? That's what I'm asking in my other thread.

Korchnoi, you're stretching a bit here
The checks do not (in my case) have a sportsbook name on it.

Then do you think the government can't do anything about this? I hope that's true.

No Cashiers Checks will work. This will be used next year.

But can the government tell banks that they cannot issue cashier's checks on behalf of gambling companies or accept cashiers checks from banks who do?

Pinny no longer accepts **********, that's an *************** service.

Perhaps banks that don't comply with US gambling regulations won't be considered "legit" by our government now.

I'm trying to be the devil's advocate here...

I think these books have plan "B" all figured out and they will uncover it when the time is right to do it. These people are pretty smart and they know how to do things, even if it means sending ** person to person with a relatively small amount of limit you can send at a time, sending money orders person to person with your account number on it. There is several ways they can do this, they will find a way by football season in the fall.

Your bank probably won't accept any checks drawn on a non US bank.

Not true, in my experience they will just put a 'hold' on the check longer than normal. Maybe up to 2 weeks.

Fed-Ex looks to be my only option to get my money out of Carib. Sucks to pay a higher fee, but not much you can do when your hands are tied.

i think fed-ex checks will always work. Book to Book transfers for distributing funds

** Checks or AMX checks which can be purchased by both parties, (the player as well as the book) they should not create a hold. We're fighting for our right to wager on games these guys are fighting for their right to exist. They'll figure something out.

yep going to be like the mid 90's...that's all we had were cashier's checks, ** (little bit) and credit/ debit cards (they quickly shut those down though)...

I agree with your theory 100%.The only thing is,plan B has been in effect for years. With all the immigrants in this country sending **'s out every week, the government will never be able to track which JUAN or PEDRO is a cover name for what book.I might be old school or living behind the times, but not once have I ever had a problem over the years with **.

Right. I don't thing moving money is going to be a fatal problem- just a big pain in the ass. The problem is keeping a book active in the US with low juice and enough volume to cover sizable wagers.

I've never tried it so I don't know, but is receiving a check from a book through snail mail still a safe option?

If you are dealing with a cashier's check, then there is no reason in the world you should not be paying the $20-30 fee for Fedex on anything over $500. Less than 500, maybe its worth taking the small risk of having it snail mailed and waiting a few weeks.

A cashier's check would only have the banks information on it, correct? So this option, chances are, can not be shut down. However, it will be a huge lag time to get money from one place to another and higher fees.

One thing to consider though is it could possibly save the SB's money by sending out checks. Doesn't NT charge the sites like 3 pct on withdrawals back to the player? If so, the sites may be able to eat the Fedex cost and still spend less than they did before. 3 pct on a 3,000 transaction would be 90 bucks.

I can't see why this would stop working, but these days you never know. If the word "VIP" is on the payee line on the check, no human or computer can ever figure out that means VIP Sportsbook, and not VIP Car Wash.

can't really understand why WSEX wouldn't mail out a cashier's check as of now?...
