It's in the works. Piece of cake for me to move down under. Relatively speaking. Packing up is still a process.

I'm thinking about sneaking into Mexico, as sort of a "Whiteback".

I have plenty of locals here in town. So needless to say there is no need for me to even consider that option.

I sure did love my stay in CR. My wife would love to move there too. I just got these two labs that keep me in the States. If I could get them down there it would be a reality

I'm giving thought to heading back to Portugal, real estate prices are depressed there just like over here, and I might be able to get the acreage I would need to make owning a vineyard a reality soon. I like helping people get inebriated, so I don't want to stray too far from that modus operandi.

I survived 8 years of Bush and never considered moving. Now that took self-restraint.

Two years ago, congress passed a bill that basically killed online gambling in the U.S.

When you exit the US they should have a sign

    NOW LEAVING HEAVEN

then when you arrive in the other country another sign

    WELCOME TO HELL

Nothing like gulping down that non-North American water and trying to guess whether you're going to have diarhea for the next 3 days

I think the poll should have been: of everyone that would consider (since that is the majority here) what reasons would you leave for. Slacker are you saying your consider leaving because of online gambling laws?

I can't imagine leaving my home because of any one current law. Wish a lot of things were different, but to just chuck it all and quit, moving off somewhere else? Not really my style. Reminds me of the liberals in 2004 saying they would leave if Bush got re-elected or the right-wing born again hypocrites who were saying last summer they would leave if Hillary or Obama got the White House. If and when I would move to a new country, it would be more for the opportunities I saw there, not any current situation here.

Willie, you are one of 5 people here that has a good head on his shoulders. Good morning, pal. How's that Big T air this fine Wednesday? Foggy as phuck here.

Buzzy, one helluva' blow through here last night. Hail and gusts that had to be 45+ at my place. Had me a bit concerned the way some of the big cedars, oaks and elms were whippin' about. But cleared off fine this morning, sunny and looking at low 70s I believe by mid-afternoon.

Willie, just how badly do you need baseball steason to start already? I am practially salivating at the thought and anticipation. It is almost that time. The purest sport ever.

Buztah, thanks for the laugh, been in need of good chuckles lately.

I'm looking forward to it, but with each season -- Or maybe with each passing year on my own age meter? -- it seems that I'm less and less anxious. I was corresponding with Bob Harvey earlier this morning about his latest MySBR blog, and can totally relate to his feelings. Guessing part of that is Bob and I are from the same generation. But as much as I hate the business and media side of baseball each year, I will always love the game. Intend to take in more high school action this spring despite not enjoying the PING! of aluminum bats.

Definately leaving but not for a long time. The USA is where I'm making my money so I can leave like a fat rate elsewhere. Costa Rica for me in 15 years max.

Why leave a sinking ship? Best to be in a sinking ship than already at the bottom of the water dead. I pass, will be here until we destroy ourselves again.
