Does amount of unclaimed winnings matter if you do infact have winnings that you didn't report? Would being under 10K keep you off the radar or are you just as guilty as someone who doesn't declare 100K?

Sorry know nothing about US tax except that you have to pay on winnings. No tax on winnings where I live.

I dont know for sure but I would think there would be an elevated situation if you didnt claim winnings on $100k. Under $10k you could forget but over a $100k you look like a cheat. Kind of hard to overlook that kind of score.

If you recall that fellow who won that reality TV show and made $1 million dollars and "forgot" to pay his taxes. They hammered him with like 5 years. You dont get that if you failed to report knocking down $2k in the casino playing War I dont believe.
