Default How long does an i.s.p. trace take?

Ok guys, I'm having problems with this sportsbook. I had over 7 dimes in my account the day before, the next day, all gone. I called the CR, and was told it was used in the casino. Well, I never ever play in the casino in 2 year stay. Was told that an i.s.p. trace will be run to see where the log-in was from, but after reading off the site's about us-controlled access, the log-in shouldn't even occur because i never apply for login-disk for multiple site login. Not only that, about 20 new usernames were created in my e-mail address. Something is fishy. It has been more than 2 weeks and I'm mad as hell. They keep telling to check back day after day saying that the 3rd party who's doing the trace hasn't gotten back to them. This is getting stupid and if they don't find in favor of me, I will raise some hell. HELP ME!

depending how long was your account last accessed. If it were couple of days ago, It should be easily go back and read httpd IP traffic logs. But if it's a month ago, could be a long process since.

If the sportsbook server is inhouse, should be even quicker. But if the sportsbooks server is being hosted by another company, they'll just take their time doing it.

One thing to remember, if you use windows Internet Explorer you'll run a big risk of having your computer comprimised. I only use Mozilla and use IE only when I trust the site.

Thanks for the responses guys. The sportsbook I'm using is poorly rated here; betonusa.com. I been with them for years and haven't had any problem since now. And no, I didn't lose it and now claiming it back. I play with what I can afford to lose and I'm not that kind of a person who committs fraud. I called them once again, and still they haven't heard back from the World Gaming. I e-mailed Bill, and hope he can hellp me out in my situation. Thanks again.

Man Billie that story is very scary to be honest with you...it takes me back to those commericials (PSAs) the government use to run about offshore gaming about 5 years ago or so. Does anyone know your password/screename?

I really hope you get it resolved. Just a note though, i've self-removed myself from any casino. I don't play at all and even if I try to log in and play I can't. If you don't play then contact them and they can make sure you don't use the casinos?

Billie, just out of curiousity, how did you come to play at betonusa? What made you decide to open there?

I know of situations were players didn't make the bets but somehow they showed up on the players account. Is scary as hell, but in cases like these 90% of the time, the player actually made the plays, so I don't see how the books/casinos can ever credit the money back.

I believe at a minimum the book should provide all ISP and/or phone records to the player even if they don't credit the funds.

Well, my friend stop gambling a year ago, so nothing really. He never had any problem with them when he was there.

Just got off the phone with them and still a waiting game. I will give them untill the end of the week to see if this gets resolve. The funny thing is that the 20+ new accounts I mentioned earlier were all the same username and info that I had in my original username. I asked them how this is possible to have same username and was told it is possible. Is that possible? I thought they allow 1 username per e-mail address, but I guess not.

pags11, I made that post over a month ago and it certainly wasn't directed at you, you are a long time poster. The fact that it can happen to someone like you is very scary.

My thinking is what can be done to stop it in the future? 90% of the time it will be the player lying, but what about the 10% of real cases? Does the player just have to assume a certain amount of risk playing? I am not really sure there is a good answer.

I read your thread pags11, glad CRIS is treating you well and this is getting resolved. But if you had 5k in your account and something similiar happen, I can only imagine CRIS response. Very scary all around.

    lakerfan,

thanks for the post...yeah, I can only imagine if my account had thousands available to play with instead of hundreds...the best advice I got was to disable the casino feature on all of my books...
