As of now, the number of books who are willing to accept American players is dwindling fast. Although lucrative as it may be for the books to have a strong and sustainable American clientale, the risks outweigh the rewards for many of these books. As a result, many books will slowly withdraw from the American market when the risks become greater than the reward. For Pinnacle, it was an easy call on my part, since they have an ever increasing iternational clientale they could afford to drop their American customers and focus on their non-American players. So the theme is easy to discern. Books that make an effort to capture the international market are most likely to close shop (i.e. Pinnacle, Bet365, Bowman's, Canbet, etc...). Books that are dependent on American players as their primary source of revenue (i.e. can't relistically function without them) will be the least likely to close shop. So right now, as books make a more concerted effort to attract players from across the globe specifically in Western Europe and in Australia we'll see more and more books drop out of the U.S. market because the risks no longer outweigh the rewards. All these books know the U.S. government in serious as I noted in my previous threads on this topic. Some books are still holding out and I can assure you those books are having some sleepless nights about what to do.
Right now the pattern is clear. The U.S. goverment is warning players subtly. First they attacked the payment processors (i.e. paypal, ************, Neteller). Now the Sportsbooks are next on the list. I think it will be a while before the player is targetted so spending time in jail is not realistic I think but the U.S. government is dying to make an example out of someone. Remember when they were getting people for downloading music on the Internet with Napstar and stuff. Well there were millions who were doing it yet only a handful got busted. They were paraded on the news and on commericials and in the media as examples of how far the U.S. governement will go. I have a feeling in the next few years we may see something similar to that. Trust me, if you have a family, if you've built up some money, if you have a reputable job or are seeking one...do you really want to have to put on an application that you were convicted of a crime? Do you want the public humiliation of going through a trial? Of paying exorbiant fines? You think and Bill and John are your friends on here who will go to bat for you...you think BigBoyDan is a good friend who you can count on for info....trust me bro, they'll bail out on you faster than a ...they've already put safeguards for themselves on here and so should you.
Right now, my recommendation is to be very very careful. This is not the U.S. government you learned about in 3rd grade with all that checks and balance bullshit. This is a government who is made up of religious fanatics who take orders from Pat Robertson, who advocate torture, start illegal wars, who wiretap without warrants, who are wisking people in the middle of the night and taking them to detention centers and not charging them, who are opening up your mail without a warrant, who are slowly taking away all your civil liberties till you have none, etc...In short, this is not the U.S. governement your parents grew up with.
Right now, there are about 8-10 books I recommend that you play with and do not deviate from this list:
BetJamica
Bet Cris/Diamond
Olympic
WSEX
5Dimes
Legendz
The Pig
Matchbook
Be very careful with VIP right now....rumor is they are next to jump ship.
Let me know if you need anything else....
