Default Wonder what this does to scalpers???

I'm not 100% familiar with this principle but i imagine a lot of people use pinny for scalping and arbitrage. not that i'm sad to see them have to leave, i just wonder how much business was done at other places such as Cris, Greek, Jamaica b/c people would scalp using pinny. i would think that others might see a decrease b/c from what i understand, scalpers would usually bet the max at these places. maybe i'm completely wrong but it was just a thought that crossed my mind. i dont' think there are other places such as pinny to scalp lines so this might have got rid of a lot of scalpers.

American scalpers are all but done....You pretty much need Pinnacle to scalp. Matchbook and Mansion and to some degree SIA and Bodog are the other main books. Without Pinnacle, full time scalpers are now defunct.

You can, except that the major sports scalped at this time of year would seem to be the NCAA and NBA (And possibly the NHL). At least that's what it appears to be...As such, these sports do not seem to be getting much action from the non-US sector of the planet.

Basically, the lines for the NBA, NCAA, and NHL are simply not moving, as there appears to be a distinct lack of non-US interest tonight, and most nights from here on in, I imagine. No line movement, obviously, translates into no arb opportunities.....

All the college hoop lines are still -105. No line movement at all.

Yup....Halftime lines are the starkest contrast. Used to be blue, orange and red everywhere on the 30 second Pinnacle refresh...Now it's just an unmoving array of black -108 numbers, cold and dead.....

yes but if the lines are moving at other books than im sure pinnacle will move there line accordingly....im sure they dont just move there lines by the action they are taking in

Kaps, perhaps you're right, but I was just chiming in with what was happening tonight at Pinny, which was basically tumbleweed and ghost towns...Interesting to see what happens tomorrow, at least in the NBA, as there is a pretty full slate (12 games or so).

Good post. Watching Pinnacle on the other side having to follow other books will be like seeing MJ in a Wizards uniform.

I used Pinnacle with the great majority of my scalps. Them withdrawing from the U.S. market is crippling.

I know its a ghost town at pinny right now but i think that all the whales that played there will again
Its a very sad and crippling effect but give it some time.

    Default wait for MLB

Besides the obvious strategy of trading through Canadian accounts, scalpers and arbitragers should hang tight for MLB. During MLB you don't really need Pinnacle. Bets are so cheap all the time with the other books. I can't wait for MLB to start. Just a couple more months...

scalping and bonus hunting was great while it lasted, sbr was critical in helping get paid from lower tier bonus books...a story to tell about the old days of internet gaming

Arbing the NCAAB has been slow yesterday and today but the NBA has had plenty of arbs today and there are tons of soccer arbs with Pinnacle.
Seems to me as if the volume needed to move a line in baskets has been drastically reduced which is no bad thing.

There will always be scalping. But with Pinny it worked so well and most the time the money would wind up in A+ Pinnacle. Double good.

Scalping is and will always be a bit dangerous. You can run up very large balances at a single book and then be stiffed which means you lose twice.

I wouldnt waste timing scalping if one of the books can't be Pinnacle.

Even if Pinnacle is a very important book for me, I do most of my arbs without Pinnacle: In soccer I play most of the time arbs between european and asian books (and exchanges) and in US sports arbs between european and US-books (here Pinnalce is important but it also works with books like TheGreek and BetCris).

Good luck if you are a U.S. resident scalping without Pinnacle. It's pretty much over. Time for U.S. scalpers to look for real work.
