I have it and the free trial is almost up. How much is it and is it worth it?

I signed up last year for $142 for the whole year paid in advance. I think its worth it as I started to dislike talk radio and all the local fm stations which are now owned by the same companies. I have a 40 min ride to and from work each day so I get my monies worth. Plenty of channels plus I love the MLB package, you get all the games during the season. Also with XM the subscription includes the online site so you can listen to it on your PC. Well worth it in my opinion.

I went with Rhapsody for the home since XM quality on the trial seemed low. 128?. Rhapsody is 160 kbps I believe. I'm looking for one of these services that are broadcasting at 190.

Not sure to be honest with you but you do get 1 broadcast of the game, not both teams.

I've got SIRIUS, which I've had for a year now. I definitely can't go back to regular radio. But, even with 100+ channels sometimes it feels like nothing is on that's worth listening to.

Channel 124 "NFL radio" goes 24/7/365, so I'm always on top of anything NFL-related. Good interviews with about half of the NFL head coaches having a weekly spot. Plus, a lot of NFL names both past & present have shows from Jerry Rice, Randy Cross, Pat Kirwin, etc. As well as Keyshawn Johnson & the Barber Brothers having a weekly show. But there does reach a saturation point even for an NFL junkie like me.

SIRIUS has all of the NBA games & a lot of the NCAAB games, but I'm down on hoops. Last year it was nice to get the scores if I had money on the games, though.

I guess Nascar is on SIRIUS now, but I don't follow that either.

Howard Stern is on SIRIUS, and I listened for a while, but I hit the saturation point with him too.

There's a few comedy channels, which keep a pretty fresh rotation of standup acts cycling through. I'm hitting the saturation point with those stations, but still hit them when I'm in the mood.

I'm saturated on most of the music channels. After a while, it seems like just keep playing the same old stuff, even with dozens of channels to choose. Occasionally there seems to be a DJ on a channel that finds some "new" stuff that I haven't already heard a hundred times, but that seems to be getting more and more rare for me.

Overall, I don't really know if it's worth it. I guess the alternative would be to get an Ipod, but even then you're music selection will get stale unless you're good at constantly updating your music, which can be time consuming and/or expensive. So, I guess satellite radio still beats any radio/music alternative, despite the drawbacks.

If you like sports they are both good. I think a computer is more powerful though as far as options are concerned with audio. You can subscribe to basically anything on the net and get any game you want even in NCCAA sports.
