You could see a clear bruise in the middle of his forehead when they showed him on the sidelines. I think a concussion is a fair assessment.

Looks like he just go his bell rung...

The Gators have a bye next week...

I'm sure he'll be fine when the get together with the Bayou Bengals in two weeks!

Brantley who is serviceable... The Gators are a running team anyway. Attacks the field like Navy/GT.

True but Tebow is a very big part of that run game.

Brantley seems more of a pocket passer. Doesn't look like he has the size like Tebow.

They are calling it a concussion. With UF off next week his status will be probably questionable until the LSU kickoff. Glad he's okay...it looked pretty bad.

LOL, no you didn't just say that.

The redness in the middle of his forehead is from the pressure the inside of the helmet puts on. Do you honestly think someone is likely to get a bruise while wearing a helmet?

The concussion happened not from the hit he took from the Kentucky defensive end which was not to the helmet area, but from the knee of his teammate to the back of his helmet as he was going to the ground. It was a freak thing, but he was clearly stunned and a concussion would be the correct answer.

Mr. Wacked, I wasn't talking about a red mark. I was referring to the place that was blueypurple, indicating a bruise. I figured when he hit his head on the lineman's knee, it drove his head forward, hence the bruise.

Dude, this is football. Do you ever see the pros taking out their starting QB? They play the whole game unless they've already clinched the playoffs. Did you see the last time UF took Tebow out early and UK clawed their way back into the game???

When at age 25 Tebow can't remember where he left his car keys or his car....his fans can look back at today.

It only takes one concussion to screw you up for life. He had the flu..Florida had the big lead. Meyer should have taken him out. end of story. Instead instinct tells me Tebow is going to get banged up again down the line and it's going to cost him and Florida big time.

    Just watch.

anyteam in the SEC is dangerous, so there is no easy lead in a game. meyer did what he had to do and tebow would not have came out that easy anyways. Its just part of the game, he be okay

Have you ever played football??? Do you know anything about momentum?? Taking out your starters before the 4th quarter in conference play (or any play) is plain stupid. Teams can and have come back from being down ridiculous numbers.

I played for Florida and we were beating Rutgers 41-0 at home when the coach did the big no no. He put in a backup QB to start the 3rd quarter. After he turned the ball over 4 times and we tightened up like a virgin Elephant, Rutgers proceeded to tie the game 41-41... The worse tie in Gator history.

Hell no don't take him out.

Tim Tebow is a great athlete, team leader, and all-around nice person. I give a f**k! You hate teams like the Florida GATORS or LSU TIGERS because they are better than Big Ten Cupcakes like Ohio State [the team backed by you in another post] or Penn State=Envy!!

The ironic thing is had they scored on tht drive, I think he would have been taken out. His injury was a bit flukey there too. It wasn't the initial hit that knocked him out, but the hit to the back of the head.

I played college too...though it was for a much smaller school about an hour north of Gainesville. Ive already heard more than a few people say he should have been out of the game, but the game wasn't in hand. You probably would have had to knock Tebow out to get him on the bench anyway.

Tebow is a tough kid and will bounce back if nothing serious comes out of this. Overall the person responsible is Meyer for not taking him out earlier, and hopefully both coach and player will learn from this.

Regardless, football is not a sport for the weak, and Florida will be the one to suffer if Meyer doesn't know how to use his star QB properly and efficently.

I really don't think Meyer gives a hoot how Tebow's injuries will affect a future NFL career, and weither Tebow leaves Florida with a few head knocks. Ultimately all Meyer wants from Tebow is victories for Florida.

Oh, man. I was at that game. My freshman year at Florida.

The crowd was just stunned. Speechless.
