Default Blue Square - Underhand behaviour

    Hi,

Back on 31/11/2006 I sent Blue Square the following email after I tried to log into my account and was given an 'Account no longer active' message:

For some reason my account has been closed. Why?

If it has been closed indefinitely please return the funds I had in my account back to my DC.

I also have a bet outstanding on Australia winning the ashes, will you be honouring that?

I'm not sure why my account has been closed but it is wholly unacceptable to do so without informing me, especially as I have outstanding bets.
    I received the following back:

    Hi

    Thank you for your e-mail,

Following a recent audit of our client database, a decision has been made by the BlueSq Management to close certain accounts.

This decision has been made based on a number of factors but in particular, abuse of free bet tokens.

Any outstanding bets will be honoured. Please contact us to request any winnings be returned to you.

I can confirm that your account balance is currently zero.

    Kind regards,

    Adam
    Customer service team
I have since contacted Blue Square via email on 3 occasions to claim the winnings from my Ashes bet, on each of which they have not even had the decency to respond or credit the funds to my account. This is effectively theft as the bet was placed using my own funds not any freebet token.

If anyone can suggest how I can seek resolution in this matter I would be grateful.

    Thanks

How is it possible to abuse freebet tokens ?

No idea, maybe take part in all of the free bets they offer? I might have placed a few other bets there if their odds were a bit better!

I claimed their intro offer, bet £50, get a £50 SNR bet free, then I took part in another free bet offer, bet £10 on the ashes and get £10 free on the weekend football.

They then closed my account a week later, and only after I sent them an email did they explain why.

Do you or anyone else at your address have (or have previously held ) another account there ?

Yes, my boyfriend also has an account, but he's had it for a year or so.

We're both at the same IP but registered to different addresses. I asked their CS if it was ok to open an account and they said it was fine.
