Pats -4 over Falcons
The Falcons are going to get their asses handed to them. You will never get the Pats at this value at home. I dont care how good people think Atlanta is they are going to be smothered. The ml bet is good as well at -217 but I hate playing more than -150.

The books are trying to make people believe in atlanta. This is a reversetrap to make people take atlanta. Go for it falcons backers but I'm all over the pats coming off a loss . This game will be done by the half.

At $30,000 limits and -104/-104 this just doesn't happen anymore. It's not 1985. THe SBR thing shows 60% on pats anyway.
If this line was way off, I'd would have moved.

The over is a better play. Atlanta lost the rookie DL for season and they will give up points to a throwing team like the Patriots and the Patriots defense is not going to stop the Falcons from scoring. Last time they played it was a shootout 31-28.

I'm on the fence on this one. The Patriots have not been as bad as they are being painted, the Falcons not quite as good - although Ryan's doing great. But... are New England better than Carolina, who got close at Atlanta last week? I think so. Eeeesh... it's so tempting to think "How often do you get to back the Patriots at home -4??"

NE not the same powerhouse it once was...
Let's face the truth here....NE is not the same team they were last year (PERIOD)! Brady is banged up and the potent defense they once had has been dismantled.
Don't forget the news release that Brady is getting sued right now (something to do with his bodyguards)... so I'm sure his mind is really focused on football right now-
Welker and Mayo did not practice and seven other players are banged up and had limited practice on NE's team. ATL had Elam on LP but the rest of the team looks healthy and they have been on a mission this year....
Atlanta is going into a bye week..(look at that as good or bad) but the fact remains that every team in the NFL wants to do to NE what they have pretty much done to the rest of the league since NE's dominance emerged.
IMO, ATL is for real and at +4 this just seems to scream VALUE but I think people are still scared to go with the points because of NE's former power! NE is not the same team. They are going to win some games but giving up more than a field goal in points to an emerging contender is a shade too much.

I do agree that one of the hardest things to judge about this game is how much of one's ideas about New England are simply 'name value'. Still, having watched every minute of both games, I don't think they have been nearly as bad - particularly on defense - as everyone is claiming.
Meanwhile, how good have the Falcons been? They beat Miami at home on turnovers, pure and simple, and were given a close game by Carolina.
Too many questions, I'm passing on this one.

It looks like the majority here are on the Falcons. Well in that case I feel better fading the public. Guys good luck with your plays as I cant change my mind and have to go with the Pats cause if i dont play them and they cover i will regret it big time. On the other hand if i lose i will say it looked too easy and wasnt. Anyhow the pats havent lost 2 games in a row in 3 years so i feel safe on the ml bet. I will take them small on spread

That's what they said last week before Jets game -"you never gonna get NE on that kind of line" . Yet they lost and line get's better.
Pretty soon they get few more losses and they will be +4 against Cleveland! 
I kind of lean towards the idea that this week they may kick back a bit but it is very very uncertain! Better play is OVER 44.5 !!! |
