iowa without greene this year is pretty boring to watch

Wegher will be much more exciting to watch than Greene ever thought of being the more games he gets under his belt.........the kid has the potential be electrifying. GREENE was much more of a power back, although he did have decent breakaway speed, but not like this kid Wegher.

The true freshman rushed for over 100 yards in his first game seeing action at tailback..........and he is still listed as second on the depth chart at RB behind another freshman, Robinson.

Iowa has good defense...lets not forget

.......a very good defense on all accounts.

The only semi-weakness they have is the ability to consistantly rush the passer. This is made up by what eventually could become one of the all-time best secondary units at Iowa in quite sometime.............but they cannot do it all, the passer must be rushed more consistantly, as any decent QB will eat up even the very best secondary.

Iowa also has three outstanding linebackers in Edds, Hunter, and Angerer...........a tremendous overall unit that probably ranks in the top ten nationally.


In fact, in his preseaon publicaton, Phil Steele listed Iowa has having the 5th best set of linebackers in the nation(Penn St was #1) and the 11th best secondary. As I stated, if there is one semi-weakness this Iowa team has on defense it is they do not possess tremendous pass rushing ability, even though their defensive line is better than average overall.

PENN ST good at home -yes......PENN ST played cupcakes and not been tested -yes.....PENN ST looking for revenge -yes.....PENN ST average team not great-yes.....PENN ST 0-3 against the spread-yes......PENN ST MISSING 2 KEY LB -YES.......PENN ST can blow out iowa-yes......results of the game,both teams are about the same,not great but good,iowa played a rival and won big,penn st played lower class teams and took it easy on them which i believe will hurt them in this game,they will not be able to turn it on whenever they need to and iowa will not roll ove and die either,bottom line it should be a good game like last year when penn st had better talent and lost so why would one think that they will blowout iowa this year with a so-so team......take the points,way to many to be giving iowa in a game that has evenly matched teams,penn st is overrated and it will show on saturday nite....good luck all

If Iowa wins this game and taking into consideration the rash of injuries the Hawkeyes have encountered this year at several key positions, Ferentz will have leap frogged into the #1 spot for coach of the year.

Having said that, coach Ferentz and his staff are UNQUESIONABLY one of the worst staffs strictly in terms of IN-GAME COACHING DECISIONS..........if Ferentz was even average in this department, he would be a top 5 coach year in and year out, as he is that outstanding in so many other areas that involve coaching.

I'm sorry the line is getting pounded and PSU has there star LB out... I'm going to take the +10 points. I could be wrong, but in a big ten football game +10 is huge...

Line is at 9.5 everywhere and PSU is getting pounded. PSU also has huge alumni, so I would imagine the fav getting pounded so if you wait until closer to game time, +10 should be very realistic on alternate lines... or the line moves to +10.

+10 for a big ten football game is ALOT of points. Considering Iowa beat them last year and PSU hasn't played anyone...will be very interesting game. I'll make a team beat me to win. Iowa has to do alot of things wrong to lose by 10pts... I'm not so sure that will happen. I'm not saying Iowa wins outright but +10 is a gift here I think. And worth the play.

penn state can't even cover against the Temple Owls and now we are supposed to believe they will cover 10 against the Hawkeyes who are just as good as Penn St? Come on, they had a better team last year and still couldn't even beat Hawkeyes outright. I was on the Hawkeyes last year and will be on them again tomorrow. Penn St can't even score on some of the worst defenses in the nation so far and tomorrow the weather is supposed to be shitty and if they can get 20 on the board I would be suprised. You can't cover double digit spreads if you can't score in double digits. This team is another Big fraud again this season. How they continue to get ranked so high every season is a joke, if Joe Pa wasn't the coach they would be ranked 22nd.

Fact is Penn St probably was happy they lost last year so the Big 10 didn't have to send another team to the National Championship game and get completely embarrassed. They would have been destroyed by Florida just like the last several Big 10 teams like Ohio State. Lets face it when it comes to football anymore, Big 10 doesn't belong with the big boys. They consistantly show it when top teams come to town or when Big 10 teams sneak into the big games because their league blows. Yes, Iowa has a good team and are certainly no pushover, but you would think Penn St. could win a revenge game at home in front of 100,000. I had the moneyline in a couple parlays. Way to go Brittany Lions. Fukk.
