should have got 5 years. First rule of gun safety is to be trigger conscious, meaning don't put your finger on the trigger unless you plan on using it. Gangster feels he needs to carry a gun around so he don't get jacked and I don't blame him for it, but what is he doing with his hand in his pocket, finger on the trigger? Did he think he was about to get stuck up?

What kind of message does that send to the thugs of New York. NFL player gets probation for accidentally shooting himself, however your getting 20 years because you accidentally shot your homeboy when you guys were playing with your guns. Happens all the time.

He didn't receive 2 years for shooting himself. The jail time was for carrying the gun. The guy lived in NY and knew how strict they are there regarding carrying a gun.
He got exactly what he deserved for being a dumbass.

Maybe, but that doesn't mean he isn't stupid. With all of his money he could hire private bodyguards if he wanted.
Most people who live in New York I'm sure know that it's illegal to carry a gun and that there's a mandatory minimum involved if you get caught. Well, he got caught. His mistake, his stupidity, his problem.
It doesn't matter what he did, the law in NY is very clear what will happen if you're caught carrying a gun. If people who live in NY don't like it then they need to have it changed.

I agree with the gun safety side 100%, if you are going to carry it around, dont be a jackass and do it legally(especially if you are a millionaire.)
But, 2 years is harsh and the guy has a kid being born soon. We dont punish people on what could have happened... he shot himself end of story, that doesnt deserve 2 years.

Again, he didn't receive 2 years for shooting himself. The state of NY has a mandatory minimum for carrying a gun. The judge doesn't have any discretion when giving out the sentence.
He has a kid on the way? Boo ****ing hoo. He wasn't thinking of that when he decided to illegally carry a gun.

if he got 6 months it would be a crime, getting two years is a tragedy. He was simply protecting himself, it makes sense hes a millionare and people are after him especially "thugs." I hope the jail becomes overcrowded so he can get released early if not hes career is probably over
