Default Can you help me Ganchrow?

I cannot get decimal pricing to work on my home computer with Pinnacle. I have tried deleting all cookies, rebooting, etc... Every time I log in, it has decimal pricing as an option but if i click it, it refreshes but remains on American pricing. I emailed Pinnacle and they told me to make sure my cookies were enabled. I set my internet options to "Allow all cookies" and that didn't help either. The only thing that has happened lately is our internet quit working this weekend and we called them and they just had us unplug our modem and plug it back in. the internet worked fine after that. I just hate using american pricing so i really would like to get this fixed. thanks for your help.

I'd suggest clearing out your cookies and then retrying Pinnacle.

(pinnaclesports.com creates a cookie called 'UserCookie' which, if all is working correctly, should contain the string priceStyle=Decimal. If after you clear out your cookies and relogin to Pinnacle you don't see this particular cookie then this would mean that for some reason pinny's cookies are being blocked.)

After doing that, there were pinnacle cookies that showed up but none that said "user cookie". there were 4 pinnacle cookies in all. how do i unblock pinnacle cookies b/c i have already tried putting my security to where it allows all cookies.

    What browser are you using?

After erasing your cookies and returning to the Pinnacle website, what new Pinnacle cookies did you see?

I'm pretty sure it's Internet explorer 6.0. I know it's not the newest 7.0 version. after deleting all cookies and then logging back into pinnacle, i get these 5 cookies that say pinnacle somewhere in them:

    tecia kite@pinnacle [1]
    tecia kite@pinnaclesports[1]
    tecia kite@tracking.pinnaclesports[2]
    tecia kite@www.pinnaclesports[1]
    tecia kite@www44.pinnaclesports[1]

Tecia is my wife's name which is the name the computer is named under. I still don't see the one cookie you were talking about. Thanks for your help.

i was going to tell you also that if i select English International as my language, it will work for decimal pricing but as soon as i go back to the main betting menu, it goes right back to English N. America and brings up american pricing.

Open up the cookie called 'tecia kite@pinnaclesports[1]' with a text editor such as notepad. Look for a section called 'UserCookie'. If it exists erase everything from the User Cookie to the first asterisk you see.

The add the following to the very beginning of the fille exactly as written (whether the section existed previously or not):
    Code:
    UserCookie
    priceStyle=decimal&lext=bri&language=British
    pinnaclesports.com/
    1024
    3698956288
    29849222
    2723226736
    29831234
    *
I have no idea why the problem is occuring but doing this should fix it.

If for some reason that doesn't work, try adding the same text to the "tecia kite@www.pinnaclesports[1]" file as well.

I had a similar problem once that for some weird reason didn't allow me to access Canbet. Tried every cookie trick in the book. No luck. Then my computer crashed. After reinstalling Windows the problem was solved.

it still does not work for me. i give up!!! i'm not really sure what the next step is. i did notice that when i select a betting option, say NCAA BB, the lines come up and the screen is a little different than what I was used to. there is an part of the screen that says All Wager Amounts are : Risk Win Base Amount

It never used to give me that option. When i select English International and go in under decimal, this isn't on the betting menu. Probably not related but it did stand out as being a little unusual than what i was used to.

thanks for all of your help and hopefully it just starts working again some day.

So after modifying the file and logging in to Pinnacle, what are the contents of the file?

when i opened up the cookie, i never did see any part of the string of characters that read "user cookie". here is what the string of characters looked like once I opened up the cookie:

    PCTR
    1325739031865
    pinnaclesports.com/
    1024
    3680239616
    30198454
    3785506400
    29904725

    And then when you add
    Code:
    UserCookie
    priceStyle=decimal&lext=bri&language=British
    pinnaclesports.com/
    1024
    3698956288
    29849222
    2723226736
    29831234
    *
does the string then just disappear?

After i delete out what was originally in the cookie and put in your string of characters, I save it and then go login and try it again. i then go back and check and it does not change so it is staying with your string of characters but is still not working.

Don't delete the PCTR cookie in the file. That should stay put.

With all browser windows closed, delete ALL your pinnaclesports.com cookie files except for the "tecia kite@pinnaclesports[1]" and then verify that it contains the string from above. If not, add it.

If that doesn't work, try adding *.pinnaclesports.com to your list of trusted sites.

Go to Tools => Internet Options => Security

Then click trusted sites and then click eiuther add or sites or whatever seems appropriate and then add *.pinnaclesports.com to the list.

do i leave the entire cookie in there that starts out with the string PCTR? If so, do i add this new User Cookie on to the end of that string or start a new string below the PCTR string? I'm not real familiar with how cookies work so i wasn't sure exactly what to do. I added the website to my trusted sites list and it still didn't work. thanks

Just add the UserCookie string to the very start of the file. This way your file looks something like:
    Code:
    UserCookie
    priceStyle=decimal&lext=bri&language=British
    pinnaclesports.com/
    1024
    3698956288
    29849222
    2723226736
    29831234
    *
    PCTR
    1325739031865
    pinnaclesports.com/
    1024
    3680239616
    30198454
    3785506400

i've heard a lot of you guys talk about it so i'm guessing it is really good. does it have any advantages over Internet Explorer that I should be aware of? As long as I can access Pinnacle, Cris and WSEx, it works for me!!!!

Welcome to the world of tabbed browsing.

May not solve your cookie problem, though. Like I said, I had a cookie related problem, and went over all possible options without success. It's some sort of Windows bug. You should be ok after you reinstall Windows, but I know that's HUGE.

Firefox maintains a completely separate set of cookies from IE.

He's not going to have the same issue with Firefox.

I obviously didn't have Firefox at the time. lol.

Good job Ganch. None of the techies I talked to at Canbet pointed me to Firefox.
