Cool Does Federer make tennis boring?

Guy is about to make his 22nd straight Grand Slam semi final, has won 15 majors, just dominates everyone he plays. Only person that ever challenged him was Nadal at French, one player, that's it.

It's almost hard to appreciate the genius of his shots because after a while, by his standards, they seem ordinary.

I don't take what he has done for granted at all. He is amazing to watch and it is a treat every time I watch him play. Enjoy it while he is around. You will not see someone like him in our lifetime again.

o i love it more than anything the way he plays is so incredible.... it really is like watching MJ in his prime

  7. #7

He's the best tennis player in history, Nadal is the best clay court player in history, Serena is the best female player in history

All as a result tend to be boring to watch unless Fed is playing a healthy Nadal

He has done things that we have never seen before and never will see again, hands down.

To the guy who likened it to watching MJ in his prime, I agree that watching dominant athletes in their prime is exciting, it's just that after a while you come to expect such a high level from the player, it just becomes routine. That's great and all, it's just not as exciting in 1 on 1 sports when one player is hardly ever tested to his maximum ability.

Lou jinxed the hell out of Monfils and then Federer.

Federer went 6-7 7-6 the last two sets. Hardly dominating the competition.

I had it on tv.... fed has his chance to put him away.... when he blew his huge lead in the tie breaker I thought he was done. Nice comeback.

What about Murray's success against Federer? That's even more impressive.

Federer is still the best player in the game today and the best player of all-time.

Soderling might be just as good. I see this kid winning a major down the road.

Fed played scared last 2 sets with no attacking of ball. If he plays like that again he will get chewed alive.

I think what makes him so great is that he's not only a once-in-a-lifetime athlete, but he's so intelligent as well. He speaks a whole host of languages, his strategy on-court is no less intricate than a chess Grand Master, and you don't see him caught up in scandals personally or professionally. He may indeed be the most interesting man in the world, I can't think of anyone else to nominate.

He is the best player by far. I never get bored to see him dominate the game and the player he is up against.

I am starting to root against Federer nowadays.. sometimes enough is enough. Federer isn't even playing that well - most players are mentally weak going up against him except Nadal.

That's why I wanted Roddick to do well in this tournament to see if he could actually beat Fed this time.
