    John,

On your front page alone, you are getting beat up (troubles reported) over three "A" ranked books: VIP, nine, 5dimes.

    What's wrong with this picture?

One or more of the aforementioned books may well deserve a downgrade.

But if it’s done, it should be done on the merits. It shouldn’t be done to avoid “getting beat up” in public forums where any ghost, book shill, rival website, scammer, idiot, child, JJGold, or anyone with a vendetta or agenda can post whatever they please to manufacture a controversy.

    I agree TLD.

But, players should pay attention. Where there is smoke there is fire.

Nothing's wrong. It shows how SBR are head and shoulders above the rest of them. If this was theRX then the topics would have been swiftly deleted. If this was EOG then all the players would be called scammers if they're not able to take a lie-detector test at a few hours notice.

    Which forum do you prefer?

Thats the scary part homie. Maybe the new law that passed has really hurt them, hence the problems we are currently seeing.

Personally I wouldn't have thought there would be a problem, but in light of recent events I can't say this really comes as a shock me at all either. Just look at all the books/poker sites that have pulled out of the U.S. market and are taking it on the chin right now in the profit and loss columns.

Taco this has nothing to do with the RX or EOG, coz we are not talking about scam books here, and neither the RX or EOG have a rating like SBR does.
Its just about books that dont deserve an A Rating (Nine) and books thay maybe dont (VIP, 5Dimes).

So whats wrong with this picture?
That it is said over and over again (yeah by me too i know), getting boring now fast.

I try not to judge a book until I have all the facts. If a book is in the wrong, I'll be the first to call "foul" once I am certain of what happened.

Nine.com... I admit I haven't heard much good about this book. I think its "A" rating is based mainly on VIP. I am working on a dispute with them now. If the player's facts are correct and the book doesn't rememdy the situation, I certainly argue against them being an "A" book.

VIP. I haven't heard anything terrible about them. In fact, most of my dealings have been good. There have been some transition problems (as there are always are), but I don't know anything that would argue against them being an A book (unless they are the shot-caller on my nine.com dispute).

5Dimes. For now they are still an A book. I'm working with Bill Dozer on a dispute they have with Romaine. If the player's facts are confirmed, and 5Dimes doesn't remedy it, I would argue against their current rating.

Btw, Bill has told me many times to say what I think. He has *never* told me to soften my stance, or change my opinion. I might have an opinion slightly different from SBR, but reasonable minds will differ. Even when we differ, SBR does not tell me to "march to their beat". SBR has more integrity than any site, which is the single biggest reason I help here.

But you're jumping the gun here. Take 5dimes - what if (and I'm talking hypothetically) the player is an out and out scammer - should the rating be lowered while SBR proves that he is? Why not wait until the case comes to a close. If it turns out that the verdict dictates a rating drop but SBR don't do it, then by all means have your say - but don't you think it's better to wait to see what actually happens?

I agree with you here, lets wait and see, Tony and his book deserve that. I don't agree with the Nine rating though. This is a D book at best in 95% of everything they do. The only reason they are an A is because of the affiliation with VIP. I can see that being a consideration, but not the final authority in a shit book being rated as a premiere book in the industry. That weakens all the other solid A and A+ books whom have actually earned their marks.

Outsiders surely could be led to believe the tight connection Alistair has with John and SBR has greatly influenced this sparkling new grade. And that is tragic in my view. Still think SBR has by far the best model for dealing with these books, and probably the most integrity, this one though is very disappointing to say the least.

these three books are A- to B+ in my opinion...SBR is getting a little better regarding this...I give them more time to sort things out...

The funny thing is that public opinion towards a book, even when the public isn't nearly as educated as expert mediators, can still weigh in heavily during disputes. For the same reason that political parties check the polls.
