Default New SBR Policies in 2007 on future contests:

In an effort to comply with contest laws and gaming laws of various countries we will no longer require a deposit or a fee for the BeatThePrick contest or any other contest.

We will still require an intial deposit. This is the best way to verify contestants. However, we will refund all deposits back at the end of the contest and there will be no rollover requirements on the deposits. Rollovers will still be required on some prize awards.

The SBR BeatThePrick contest will be much larger next year. We still intend to make the Grand Prize a 2008 Black "wiseguy" Lincoln Navigator.

A Lincoln Navigator is a very nice prize.

Depending on how many times it has to be rolled over.

Most contest players are for guys that are broke or bet $5 or less a game. How can I play a contest when I am looking to win 5 Dimes a month to pay off loans?

    Huh?? Pass

it is truly amazing if next year's BTP is better than this year's

    this year's contest was awesome

BTP and the march madness tourney contest are things to genuinely look forward to each year

On the money GG nice contest. When you throw in the Lincoln you'll get some Feist types playing with aliases

Would be nice if player's picks in BTP be hidden until kickoff, so there is no cloning of plays which makes it impossible for some quality posters to win the nickel prize if there are some mad spammers with higher post counts making the same exact plays.

That's a great suggestion, so hopefully we can implement it next season.

any cloner (same person entering twice in a contest) should be banned for life from any SBR contests

that would be a pretty good deterent

hiding picks til kickoff is cool with me too

FWIW, I made this suggestion at the beginning of the year in the BTP sub-forum as it became clear that cloning would happen during these last few weeks of the season.

yep specially in the later part of the season.....dont think cloning is much of a problem first 4-5 weeks.

I don't mind depositing the money and wouldn't need it refunded since I play regularly at cris anyway...

Cloning isn't a problem if it means following winners. Late in the season cloners could never catch up. Early in the season, it is unknown who will have the hot hand.

It could be a tactic towards the end, though, if the leader wanted to maintain a distance from the runner-up. But it would be counterintuitive not to play your own picks if you're having a great year.
