    Default Scammed by BetWho

I made a deposit at Bet Who and received a bonus and started betting to fulfill their wager requirements. After I made about 8 bets I called in and asked if I had met the requirements. John the manager at Bet Who told me that pyramid betting is not allowed and he told me I was still $1,000 short for meeting my wager requirements and said if I made two more bets of $500 I would be finished wager requirements. I apologized for the pyramid bets and I thought everything was ok. I made two more bets and was within $200 of meeting wager requirements when my account was locked. I contacted John and he said they are closing my account because of pyramid betting and he called me a sharp player. I am by no means a sharp player with this my first year of sports betting and my winning percentage sucking at below 50%, but at Bet Who I had more wins then losses.

John said they would be closing my account and only paying me half of my winnings. This was totally unfair because if I didn’t make these bets with Bet Who I would have made them elsewhere and would have collected my winnings. Why would John advise me to make two more bets if he knew he was going to close my account?

I would avoid Bet Who if you can't trust what the manager tells you. Also if they use that “sharp player” rule as a way of stealing your winnings then they are truly unethical. Also you should check out their payout methods. I deal with Neteller and they will only refund to Neteller what you paid in with a 4% charge. Neteller only charges them 3%. Then they will only send the rest via ** at a $1,000 max with a $75 charge. I know ** charge less then half that for sending $1,000. If you have any winnings at Bet Who and they don’t label you a sharp player and steal them then they will claw back as much of your winnings as they can with their high payout charges.

Bet Who should be an F- (SCAM)

    Bonus Pyramiding

Taking deposited funds plus bonus and wagering the entire amount on a single event. Upon winning, taking your entire balance and wagering on a single event. This being repeated until meeting rollover requirements and withdrawing the money. Upon withdrawal, you will receive your deposited money and winnings on the deposited money.

    Example:

    Deposit: $500

    Bonus:
    $100

    Total Balance:
    $600

    1st wager
    $600 to win $600

    2nd wager
    $1,200 to win $1,200

    3rd wager
    $2,400 to win $2,400

    New balance
    $4,800

the phrase pyramid betting is popping up more and more now. The books dont have a problem when your doing it because they feel that eventually you will make a bad pick so they let you bet your balance without a problem. Its only when you dont lose that it becomes a pyramid. I think another phrase for pyramid betting could be excessive winning or lucky as hell this week or failure to properly give your money to us. In my opinion as long as you stay below whatever limit the book has on you the bet should count. If you take the action you should pay. If you win a poker game by going all in every time I guess you just pyramid won.

I looked very carefully at their rules and terms. I found nothing in them that disallows this type of betting.

In all my years of sports betting, I had never even HEARD of "pyramid betting" until this.

The rules are unclear. The book's response in this case was wrong; ergo the downgrade. They need to either adjust their rules, or not award the bonus until it is earned (similar to 5Dimes).

That email is in response to my case. I didn't see the rule on pyramid betting and when informed of it I was unaware of what it was. My first two bets were of this nature. When confronted with this on the phone I apologized and then John the manager said I need to make 2 more bets at $500 to clear the bonus wager requirements. Why would he say this and allow me to continue wagering and then later deny me $1,700 in winnings?

These guys are an absolute joke. I got a ton of emails and phone calls from these guys. They told me they would take on all types of players and would gladly welcome my action. Having already been a part of the NoJuice and BetonStars fiasco, I decided to pass up their offer. I'm really glad that I did. What a bunch of crooks. And what a stupid name for a book!!

I believe wagerweb was the first book to coin the phrase and disallow pyramiding.
I think heritage has a policy that if you want any fiture bonuses, your depsoit and bonus has to be broken up into at least 3 seperate wagers.

Betting your balance on a 3-team parlay is ok. But placing a single bet, winning, doubling down, then doubling down again is not ok. Logically it makes no sense. But clearly these books feel like they bonus whores are killing them, and they are trying to fight back

No problem with the rule but the question is, were the rules there (and they should be clearly there on the "bonus rules" page, not hidden somewhere in the sportsbook T&Cs)? If no, pay the guy and learn from this experience. If yes, you're within your rights not to pay him the full amount.

    Default Scammed by Bet Who

I never thought of the scam that way.

If your pyramid betting and you lose then your lose. If you happen to win 3 or 4 in a row they will cite the pyramid rule and take away all your winnings and you still lose.

    Nice scam Bet Who

BetWho called me at the beginning of football season and offerd me a 25% cash bonus. I sent them a dime. Met my roll over and took out the majority of my money. Then I lost the remaing funds. A few months later they called me and offered me a 20% cash bonus. I was just about to send the money when I decided to click on their live chat (there was some problem) and I was informed that I would not get the bonus until I redeposited the money I had taken out. I told them that seemed fair but I also informed them that it was them who called me and offered me the bonus. I decided not to depsit and I don't think I will go back after reading this thread.
