That is pathetic. The live-betting server goes down in the middle of a contest? A little bit suspicious.

Thats one of the hazards of live betting. It sometimes can actually make you money forcing you to hold and get a better price. But the ones you remember are the ones you could have sold before the bottom fell out.

I feel you dog. I was live betting this game. I thought it was just me. Totally unacceptable. WSEX should issue refunds for anyone who couldn't close out their positions.

WSEX is at no risk with live betting. It's a zero sum game. WSEX makes $2 to $5 a contract whenever anyone buys or sells a contract. If WSEX offered live betting on every single event, then it would be their biggest money maker for sure.

That is pathetic. How long was it down for?

It was a technical issue. I am sure it was not intentional. When was the last time it happened?

I don't know where you get your figures. WSEX does not make anywhere near $2-$5 a contract.

No risk?? Next time I talk to Steve I will let him know he may have another challenger here. He has offered to let people sit in the driver's seat and make the markets for the whole game as long as they want to back up their losses. Are you ready to put your money where your mouth is?

Not a bad idea to have two outs for live betting. So if one goes out, you can skip to the other. If it's a televised event chances are there's a pretty good market going at Tradesports as well. Same prices.

Opening the market is simple, just use Pinny' numbers and then all you do is have a computer program do the rest based on buys and sells. It is pretty easy actually.

The difference between the buy and sell price is what is called the spread. WSEX makes this difference. There is absolutely no risk for them. A $2.00 to $5.00 spread for a stock would be criminal.

You're missing something. They only make the margin, if they get *equal* volume on both sides. They don't, as they react to game events (what you'd call "moving on air" in a normal market)

Next time call WSEX and ask to speak to the interactive person. Thats what I did in past situations. I talked to the person and he handled the selling of the contracts.

WSEX also posts on their interactive page that this trade may be your last due to this very thing. If you fear that happening do not play the interactives.

That's cool. As long as there's a note in the T&Cs then that's fine, right?

At least be consistent. If BetUS had a similar caveat then this would be grounds for calling them a S-H-I-T book on every thread you could find.

I do not want to make some new conspiration theories...but...
Live betting was for SAC -4.5, in the half of 4/4 they were in a 10 pts hole and their prize was in odds about +1500. At the time I bought (and many others I think) and right at the time was the server down and exactly at the time SAC started to score that they tied the game.

So what could be a price for -4.5 when the game was tied at the beginning of OT with Mourning out?... +400? But server was down and down till the last few secs of OT when the game was lost.

So it was 10-15 mins playing time, in the end of the game and OT, I guess 40 mins real time.

Can we keep any profit too??

Guys, its a pure market making gig with very little liquidity. Very risky stuff for the house.

As a reminder to all, the poster "tacomax" is the forum douche bag. Best to ignore.

Notice how the loser tacomax ignores the fact that all someone had to do was call WSEX to sell or buy their contracts in case of technical difficulties.

Instead of explaining yourself, you resort to name-calling. That's not what the main forum is all about. You want to insult people - go to the private forum and keep the crap off here.

Back to business - if they had a hidden T&C that winning bets can be deleted after the match has ended would that be OK by you? After all, it's it in the T&Cs, right?

And, by the same measure, would you be in agreement of these T&Cs if it was from BetUS?
