South Park did a show on it, and despite all they can do, Comedy Central wouldn't let them put an image of Mohammed on the show. Seems the fear of actual violence it too great. Eventually it will start to happen, Christians finally got over it to some degree. When you live in a country with free speech will happen eventually.

If I have not mistaken, that happened in Denmark this year. It was a cartoon on a newspaper and it caused extreme hassle and diplomatic crisis. Danish government was being pulled into it as well, but I have the feeling that they were able to keep some of distance of it. Slash might know better.
