Default OT - saving money on cable TV

I signed up for a promotion where I received HBO and Cinemax for $14.95/month for 6 months. Near the end of that period, I decided to cancel it - it would be too expensive, and still no Sopranos.

After the customer service quiz: why are you cancelling, they offered it at a lower price when I said it was too expensive... $7.99 per month.

The moral: if your cable bill is about to go up, call and cancel. Don't let it go up to $30/month automatically.

More content than you could experience in a lifetime at your local library: $0

Lifetime Original Movies and the Flavor Flav reality show: $50+ per month

    Tough call.

it definitely pays to negotiate...picked up a $200 cell phone the other day for $29 (after a $50 rebate) by re-upping one more year with my cell provider...I was two months from my contract ending and told them I was starting to look elsewhere...
