Default 5dimes has you log in before seeing lines

one of the few...they must have their reasons....why? Are there other prominent books that require log in before lines?

    Pinnacle would be one example.
You can only see a small part of all available lines without logging in.

Thanks SS- didn't catch that because I only wager on boxing, and pinny always shows the lines, which aren't nearly as many in the mainstream sports.

I really don't like this feature about 5dimes, because they don't let you stay logged in for very long. I just log into all my other books and leave them logged in, so when I see a number hit the price I want, I can quickly place the wager, but with 5D (and CRIS), you have to log back in. Did get my 3k cashout on Monday from them in LESS than a minute though (Neteller).

Yes, but only once every 30 days and even though cashouts show up in 2.5k increments into your NT account, a request of over 2.5 counts as just a single transaction. I leave a note too telling them that the $15 fee should be waived (they offer space to type a message of less than 100 characters; learned this the hard way when I was writing out a novel in that box )

It is mainly done so server not overloaded, I like it this way better and keeps account holders only to look at lines.

Uh I dont think so. 5Dimes is a sponsor here and a very good book. But this is a throw back. In the old days you had to join a book to see their lines. You also had to pay $100 just to join. When VIP entered the market in late 96 early 97 they were the first ones to offer free lines and everyone followed suit. The reason they do this now is to keep scalpers from writing automated scripts to scalp soft lines. The 5Dimes lines are sharp and opinionated. They are trying to protect that aspect.

server 101...............the more people viewing a web page the slower it becomes.

Limiting account holders only to view lines makes the line screens faster and easier to bet. If everyone could view lines they would be too clogged for real account holders to effectively place bets.

Unreal the lack of experience here, I feel like I am a major league pitcher pitching to single A baseball batters.

What a bizarre thing to say. I can understand how someone who isn't a real account holder might see that as a theoretical possibility, but back to the real world I can report that many - probably most - books let everyone view their lines and people manage to place bets just fine.

In fact the one book with the worst reputation for a "clogging" effect is 5 Dimes which doesn't.

Any book that doesn't let you view lines when not logged in is not being competetive.

I'm not too sure who doesn't. I am usually logged in at all my books when I'm working so I don't think about it much. I know that with Bowmans and Royal you can see lines without logging in - but they're often different than the lines I get when I'm ready to bet. I'm looking at Trojan right now and I don't see Live Lines.
