Is a valid question for sure. I must say I could think of a lot better people than Calvin to take over the recreational market; could end very badly if the government gets hold of him.

If Calvin goes to prison then jj will be their sugar daddy!

Here's the deal. Calvin will be the cause of his own un-doing

If he is clean of any other non-related possible charges and he stays out of the US, where is the risk?

I see the debate. Of course he is a target. But the WSEX guys were indicted almost 10 years ago and it hardly took them down. They are still indicted living free and traveling the world less the US, so what? If Calvin is indicted so what again.

US gov't will find away to close out Bodog to Americans eventually, so many international banking and tax laws are broke by books so a charge that is legit will be easy.

Johnny I was running down to Dominican Republic and Antigua when you were still in High School, Johhny your young in this game and learning still. Watch and learn from guys like me.

John, you act as if "Calvin" is a guy without a past history of chicanery. Cannot compare him to the the guys running WSEX.

Please do NOT let Bodog's $$ cloud your sensibilities

OK, lets compare him to Billy Scott. How's that? Billy was indicted and had a tough past including a long stretch in the crossbar hotel right? Still a great guy in my opinion. He was indicted the same day the WSEX clan was indicted and it never slowed him down right? So again I ask, why would Calvin be any different?

There's a difference in getting busted for booking or related 'crimes'

Calvin was busted for being a fuuking thief, running a scam. Correct?

So was Billy Scott. Almost the exact same charge if I recall.

Sam, there are few saints in this industry. Only in the last few years you started seeing the clean cut well educated guys like Jay-WSEX, Alistair-VIP, ect. Most these guys have had a tough past. Doesnt make them bad guys, they made mistakes.

BTW, I'm not comparing character. Billy Scott is a 1st ballot offshore hall of famer. Calvin is a one time pro bowler in my opinion. he is a looong way from being a Billy Scott.

What we can compare is these guys with records and no records have been indicted and it did not at all interupt their operation. So why would it be different with Calvin?

I think Sam is right, matter of fact i read many bad stuff about Calvin's family as well . well related to crimes in the past. well who knows , rumours are rumours.

I have to agree with Sam but also John's last post. Is it good that all of these books are now gone from the US market with all the players in Bodog? Calvin has had a couple good year runs (one time Pro Bowler comparision). If he is making money I don't worry about him. But he has a personality that can get him in trouble. And while I don't put to much into anyone's ethics, Calvin has got to be at least a little on the negative side with his stock fraud convictions. Yes if he never gets in legal trouble I am not worried, but that is a HUGE if. A+ rating scares me a bit. In this climate if he is the best offshore has, then we might be setting ourselves up for a huge fall if something goes bad.
