I would prefer SBR not have the point system. If you do have a point system, don't reward based on # of posts. I could go into every thread and put in and rack up a lot of points. Would be better to base it on quality posts (not sure best way to award this) and not have the # of points you have be seen by everyone.

The program is will be tweaked so there are no worthless power posters. The program is far more than just points for posting. Let's wait and see. Still to come is the SBR Sportsbook, store and SBRPicks site that all work with the points. In the future you can get points just by entering a free poker contest lets say. You can take those points and parlay them into a trip to the Pro Bowl or a new laptop.

If some of the regulars want to bolt before they see the full program that would be very disappointing. But as my pappy used to say "that'll leave more for the rest of us".

The regulars will bolt because the forum is being taken over by idiot posters. Most of the regulars dont give a shit about earning points to win a t-shirt and keychain. The barreled in posters care about that, and as you can see, those are the guys creating this problem.

Clearly the points program has not been fully installed yet. As they see it, the points being awarded were just the starting point, not the end all. Before you proclaim it to be a tshirt hunting exercise, why not wait until they explain it fully?

For someone griping about the points system, I notice you are not threatening to leave. Why? We all know the answer, you are not leaving. You know it, everyone here knows it. You will be here bitching and whining about the points, but you will NEVER leave. And in an odd twist of irony completely lost on you, you will be contributing to the increased ad rate revenue hike you bitched about by creating multiple threads each day bitching about the point system.

John I will say that the way they are rolling this out is quite flawed. If your goal is to keep people interested and those posters around that have been here for a while then I would suggest rolling everything out at once. For SBR to say "New things are coming...soon soon" you may already lose people by time the new things come out. It really should have been an all or nothing type of thing. As soon as everything was tweaked and ready to go then it should have all been introduced at the same time. The SBR store being the biggest, as you have clowns around here racking up points and they don't even know what for. They don't know how many points equals a teeshirt, a trip, a laptop or anything.

In short....you guys better introduce everything that you plan to quickly before everyone is already gone...

Changes are being tweaked daily. Its mid August of a new project. All will be ok. It will take a little time but I guarantee Bill and his staff are working hard to get this smooth by the end of the month. I have complete faith in them. They will get it right.
