Default Do you like JJ Gold?

The guy is actually a good gambler. I see him at the horse forums and he actually made me money with his picks.

But he's kind of a good gambler in drag imo. I'm never sure where he's coming from. College football is by far is worse sport and has been for years. But he has some sharp angles on racing and NFL.

Should we ask the coach to give us more gambling stuff or do we like the 3 card monty stories and how he got his hair piece towrn off in a scuffle at the Stardust?

JJ is a Sharp, met him once and he kept a toothpick in the side of his mouth for the whole two hrs we were together. Only Sharps do that.

Some winning horse exotics would be nice. But I'm still waiting for JJ's next great offer on what case of liquor he can get his hands on and how much he'll mark off

LO fvcking L

JJ's roll was cut short by his lifetime all time pick of Oklahoma over LSU a couple of years back. LSU crushed them of course. But he is spot on the New York tracks.

He´s a forum clown, and obviously SBR thinks they need the forum traffic. Nuff´ said.

Do you like JJ Gold?

In a word, no.

First and foremost, he made some racist comments on this forum which I would describe as putrid. I feel sure I will never like persons of that ilk.

Setting that aside, I don't know why you are trying to float this idea that he is sharp. He posts some truly horrible ideas and "information." I feel bad for any newcomer that comes along and gets fooled into thinking he is sharp and following him.

I know, it's tough shit for newcomers if they get fooled and lose money following any forum yahoo. But seeing SBR people, who purport to be on the side of players, contributing to that is puzzling to me in the most negative way. I used to be a mod here and I recall that last year (without my consultation obviously) we actually started a jjgold sub-forum. It was truly embarassing to me and a significant factor in why I left.

If anything, jj is squarer than most, always over-reacting to the last thing he saw. He is an eternal rookie.

As for the shtick and spam, I can't say I like that either. Apparently some people are entertained by it - and I understand that people have different tastes in what is entertaining so I just want to shrug it off - Live and Let Live - but unfortunately it is in conflicting interest to the reason I use this forum (for sportsbook/industry information that is useful to my business).

The jjgold Show has spammified the forum and brought the overall quality of discussion down. It has made the forum much less attractive to the people who have real information. I find myself looking for those people more and more at theRx and EOG. I don't like that because I don't want to support their sponsors - and I have great respect for the way SBR handles sponsors with the players' better interests in mind - but principles only go so far. I bet on sports for a living and I need the best information which I am finding here less and less.

As was said in another thread (entitled Forum quality) by someone who actually finds jj's shtick entertaining:

Quote:

Frankly, I think some of the jjgold posts are hilarious (usually any one in which a mink is mentioned), but I'd WAY rather have zero jjgold than the current quantity.

As always, I don't know the business implications of The jjgold Show. From my point of view, the effect on the forum has been so negative, I almost wonder if Major Wager is paying jj to post here and crap up the place. (I don't really believe that; I'm just making a point). But since you, John, seem to be selling jjgold, I have to assume his shtick is somehow good for business in a way I don't understand.

Fair enough. Business is business.

In closing: I don't like picking on anyone like this. I believe in putting myself in another person's shoes and when I do that and try to imagine what is going on with jjgold, I feel bad about saying some of what I've said here. Unfortunately though there is this conflict of interest so I feel a need to stand up for the needs of myself and those with similar interests.

Mudcat, IMHO...

If a person (newbie) is unable to discern the difference in JJ's shtick and other posters' gambling knowledge then he is bound to lose $$ gambling anyhow.

I read the opening post, considered responding, but decided it wasn’t worth the effort.

Then Mudcat posted and said almost exactly what I would likely have said (though probably more articulately than I would have managed).

So I’ll just say: “Ditto.”

I’ll only add that my suggestions would be to put him on “ignore” and avoid responding to him. The less attention he gets, the more likely he’ll lose interest and move on to some other “up-and-coming” forum where he can laugh to himself over how stupid the posters are to fall for his put-on.

The Major does pay me well, I get paid for different reasons. Mudcat your mad at me because I exposed you as a scammer, so your worthless to me and everyone else . I like Italian posters, I got stiffed by a cheap lyng scumbag Jew, plus they are the backbone of all wars and I wish they would stop stealing land. I love Blacks, Irish ok, Euro's cool, Domincans cool, Spanish nice, ect.

I am the sharpest guy here, 23-5 run lately. I post what I want and report to no one. I do not give a fuk what anyone thinks, I play at big time old school pioneer books only. Mudcat your a scammer so you play at low end books looking for bonuses.

Most guys here should not even gamble from what I read from them.

I dont like myself, also tired of starting gambling threads and no one cares, not enough input here from posters, too many guys standing on the sidelines with hands in their pockets.

Mudcat go to EOG, you fit in there with the other misfits.

I think that anyone who takes JJ seriously at any point in time is brutally incapable of reading between the lines. If you ever read a jjgold post and find yourself agreeing with it then you need to step back and figure out where you've gone wrong with your life. Having said that, it doesn't mean he isn't a beneficial and humorous foil to our community. There are legitimate spammers at this forum that deserve more negative attention then jjgold seems to receive.

Anyone who gets a chance to have a genuine conversation with "Mario" knows that in reality he is not the act that occasionally provides us with some comic relief.

In response to John's original question I would say, "Please don't have jj provide us with more gambling stuff." That could prove disastrous and may cause SBR significant legal fees in the long run.

To those individuals that find it necessary to spend effort on removing jjgold, I would simply say that the forum doesn't become better simply by existing. If you feel jjgold's act has taken over and poisoned the forum, then it is likely because you as a poster have been incapable of providing better material.

Borat is so accruate with that quote, we will never be free until Israel gets taken over or we stop supporting Israel, so simple.

Our support of Israel is the real reason why 911 happened.

I don't know what to make of the whole "JJ Gold subculture" evident at SBR.....Quite honestly, I come on to this site looking for informative news, updates etc, that have to do with the gaming industry...I look at JJ issues as comic relief, more or less, although sometimes, and particularly of late, it is into the area of overkill. Like a once humorous sitcom that is well, well past it's prime.....Guess I might just be more serious than most, but lately I look at the threads and wonder what amazing revelations JJ is ready to share, seeing that every other thread is started by him (Usually concerning why he is "so sharp" or something along those lines).....

Of course I like JJ. What kind of a question is that? Anybody who has gambled for years has stuff to add here. Stories, insights, picks, it doesn't matter.

Just wondering what the angle is when the moderator asks the question. Couldn't be too positive.

This forum is divided into sports handicapping, Players talk and private forum. i think we can have a little of both. Keep the witty banter and jokes in the private section and leave the sports forum for handicapping and advice. this way the purely gamblers with no other interest in mind can stay focused on there side of the forum. Mayebe we need to make a demarcation line and JJ may never cross it. have Jj have his own thread in the private section.

Cracking me up.

You were crying why your picks never hit, asking for money, at GA one week ago, and now you're the sharpest.

You know what. It works for me. A gambler has to have a short memory.

The JJGold posts in general are great for entertainment but short on tips, knowledge and insight. With that said, after all these years on forums JJGold is now in the posting hall of fame. He truely is one witty character that will always draws people into his threads no matter how ridiculous they are. He can work a angle on any of these boards and has the gift to gab.

WoW! Great post! But tell me how you really feel?!

I can't imagine anyone here not getting pissed at some of JJ's whacko posts. I certainly do.

My opinion of JJ hasn't changed going back 3 or 4 years. I always liked the guy. So to say I promote him for commercial reasons is a little unfair.

I have had a personal vendetta against SBR John from Day 1 when he refused me a 10,000 loan. I have never received a Dime from this guy and I deserved it. No one refuses me when I ask for cash.

JJGold is an online pan handler but duped 10k out of gullible tc.com posters last Fall when Katrina hit. I believe the title was called 'Not a Hurricane Pledge'. gotta give credit where credit is due

"Hi boys, I like many of you personally but not really when you post. I remember last time when many were very generous when I asked for money and I used it well. I thank the ones that gave last time.

Today young fellas my a good friend of mine wants to purchase a car (1998 Lexus) and he had all the cash ready to bring to seller and a fluke thing happened. He had the money stored in a fruit creight above garage and the garage is like a barn and had some hay in it that was so crisp a spark would of set it off. Well Boys it happened!! The garage caught fire with the hot sun I guess and the creight burned and all his money was lost. The house is fine because it is detached and the garage has some damage.

My friend really wants this car as he is devasted. He thinks it is lost forever now, the car of his dreams.

Boys I already have 3k I am giving him and I need 12 more for the sale. If all of you would just do your part and give what you can afford I would really aprreciate it and if you cannot afford to give anything, I would accept anything you might throw out as I can move it in the streets of Newark in exchange for cash. I will even take canned food if you want to ship. I prefer cash though/money orders, cashiers checks /pay pal or neteller.

I will then buy the car with the funds and really surprise my buddy. I think too it will mjake you all feel really good. Again i have given 3k already.

Let me see the interest 1st and then I will tell how to get me the money or anything you have laying around the house you do not want. It feels good to give like I do and i am sure you guys give too.

I know we have some skeptics here and some do not like me but I can assure you I do not bet horse anymore and this money is not going in my pocket to support my gambling. I actually do not even bet much anymore and when I do it is pocket change.

Thank for your consideration here.

Signed..............

A friend In Need
