    Default Oh shit, the dam has broken in womans hoops!

    You know the WNBA has been dreading this. First WNBA star has announced that she enjoys boxing out...off the court.

    ML on having an all-brute team by the end of the month:
    yes -150
    no -130

    The news could be particularly perplexing for the WNBA, which has struggled to both recognize the homosexual element connected to its league and grow its fan base. Ironically, in its infancy, the WNBA marketed a pregnant, married Swoopes to put a heterosexual face on its promotional campaign. Now the league, which will play its 10th season next summer, has to decide what to do now that one of its best and most recognizable players has announced she's gay.

    she just took an endorsement deal for a gay cruise line, thats probly why she said what she said.

    What a suprise...a lot of homophobic guys on the forum. To begin...who really cares what her sexuality is. Only insecure people or Republicans truly hate the presence of gay people.

    She's a human being and so are the people who play in the WNBA so treat them like they are. Just b/c you don't find the WNBA interesting doesn't give you a right to rip on it and make stupid suggestions.

    By the end of the decade, we'll have a lot more gay athletes come out. It's only a matter of time.

    Shawn...you are really one to be saying anything about "sweeping generalization" as you seem to be saying that "naturally" all WNBA fans are Lesbians.

    Moreover, you seem to say that the only way men would be interested is if they played in the nude....pretty sexist steretype on both parts (men are only interested in naked women) I hate to tell you this but smart guys like me like women for a lot more than that.

    Do me a favor and find an opinion poll or even go to a Republican forum and see what Republicans think of gay people and you'll see that upwards of 90% of them disdain the sight of gay people.

    Beach vollyball and basketball are different sports altogether. It's not a good comparison. Why do so many people watch women's billiards...they are fully clothed? WNBA has TV contracts with major networks, teams across the country, championships, etc......most people can name a WNBA player. I've never even watched an WNBA game and I can think of a few players...i haven't the faintest idea of any beach vollyball players. It's almost comical to think that the only reason someone watches beach vollyball is b/c the girls are almost naked.

    YES!!!! Empirical data is evidence. That's the only thing we can count on for real evidence in this world. Everything else is anecdotal or fabricated like WNBA fans as lesbian (again that is how the uneducated think). If you went to school you might realize that. Otherwise you make wide sweeping/stupid/uneducated remarks like WNBA fans are lesbians. Just b/c you know a lesbian who likes the WNBA doesn't mean all are just to let you know. Conduct some type of study and then let me know the results please.
