I am moving to Vegas in about 6 months. Staying with a friend until I get on my feet down there. Never have been there but I'm visiting in a couple months. Anyone know how it is betting sports over there? For example, what vig do most charge? What are most sportsbooks limits? Do they tend to limit players? Can you get down on most any game? Do you have to go down to the sportsbook everytime you want a bet, or can you phone them in? Pretty much any feedback is appreciated. Pags, if I'm not mistaken you live there right? Thanks.

I believe pags lives in the Reno area. The man you want to talk to is onlooker.

-110 Pricing on major sports except baseball. Baseball you can find anywhere from a good late breaking dime line to 20 cent lines. No reduced juice. It would be considered very rare for a player to be backed off or limited.
I wouldn't bother with a phone account if you're a dime player or larger. Phone wagers are watched closely and limits are kept small. That has been my experience, anyway. I havn't used the B&M sportsbooks in a few years. Now that they face more online competition they may have lightened up some with the phone/internet accounts, but I doubt it. In their opinion, players that want to phone in their wagers are sharp and they will be careful with you. Last edited by MrX; 11-11-06 at 06:52 PM.. |

MrX pretty much sums it up.
Most are -110 and that is why Im using Pinnacle as much as I can. To get them better vigs, and to sell points for a better price. If you have no means of travel and can not hang out at the book full time durning busy sports days. Then I would stick to offshore for as long as you can. It is just nice to know you have a back up in local casino books. ![]() |

the more you win...the casino will get your SSN and send you a 1040 slip at the end of the year to pay for tax.
Never worry about the tax shit. Save your receipt from the casion. Just tell the person who do your tax return to cancel it out...meaning you can claim what you lose the same amount to what you win. Never have to pay tax. Fire the muther **** accountant if they have no idea what you are talkin about. peace from las vegas |

tink,
owned is correct, I'm up in Reno...however, I've been to Vegas a lot...you'll eventually get tired of the sportsbook scene and become an online player...so much easier...GL... |
