Default colt mccoy's turn to win the heisman

tebow already won.........bradford already won.............it is now mccoy's turn.......he's a senior and texas is loaded..............i am not a texas fan, just calling it as i see it

florida v texas in the bcs title gm, but before that, mccoy wins the heisman in early december, then loses the bcs title gm to tebow and florida...........tebow goes out w/3 bcs titles, 2 of them as starter, and 1 as back-up getting significant playing time

I think McCoy should have won it last year. If he has another season like he did last year, he wins it going away . . . .

no way he should have won it last yr with the stats bradford put up, those crazy offensive #'s the sooners put up (60 pts in what 5 straight gms?) and plus the sooners winning the tie-breaker against texas to play in the big-12 title gm..... but now mccoy is the senior and texas looks very good on paper

Good thread hoopy,

This topic would normally gain more traction if there wasn't drama going on in other threads.

I like McCoy to win the Heisman too

Should we let the season play out and actually see who the best player is? Or should we just give it to Colt and call it a day???

of course we let the season play out, DR, but sometimes these things are just given in a certain order, like in 05 when leinart won it because bush won it before him.... and vince young was only a jr so they thought he had 1 more yr left to win but then he declared early................. honestly, i have predicted the heisman winner correctly in the preseason in 5 of the past 9 yrs................ i am telling you that because tebow and bradford already won, mccoy is the frontrunner this yr

last 2 time winner was archie griffin mid-70s, no repeater since

if colt wins the heisman the system is more flawed than the BCS. when did they change the name to ok you been around awhile and had a good career award.

He won't win and doesn't deserve to win. He can't throw the ball more than 15 yards down the field. Shipley deserves it more than McCoy does. I think Ingram wins but would have no problem with either Gerhart or Suh. The quarterbacks should finish 4th and 5th imo.

The Heisman is a joke.

A bunch of old guys who don't watch any of the games until the last week of football.

I expect for McCoy to get his lifetime achievement award, then go on to get beat by the better player... Ingram.

Just like when Lienhart won it, and then Vince Young showed how vastly superior he was in the Championship game.

C.J Spiller is my MVP. Clemson relies on him to do everything. KR, PR, RB/WR. That team doesnt have an inkling of a chance without him, and we sill see the black hole he leaves next year when Dabo Swinney actually has to out-coach someone. Not happening

Its gonna be tough for Ingram.....Paul Finebaum, a radio talk show host who knows his stuff, said that 3 of his colleagues from Mississippi and 2 from Tennessee said they voted Ingram no better than 3rd because they didnt want to see anyone from Alabama win it. plus he reported that 16% of the votes had been turned in before last weekends ball games.....The voting needs to be done in a different way....why would some one not wait untill last weekends games had been played......Finebaum said he had been contacted twice earlier in the week by the Heisman comitee asking him had he voted yet.....He told them no and would not vote untill monday which was the deadline. IMO the heisman should not be voted on untill the last bowl game has been played....

Love him or hate him , CBS' Gary Danielson gave back his Vote years ago because of the politics (dirty tricks) involved.

The true definition of what makes a player the Heisman winner is lost and long gone.

McCoy means way more to Texas' success than Ingram does to Bama's. If that matters?

The season George Rogers won the Heisman, the Gamecocks played Pacific. They were horrible. George got his 100 yards and a couple of TD's in the first half and Coach Jim Carlen pulled him. He didn't play at all in the second half. When the press asked Coach Carlen why he pulled Rogers Carlen answered, "You don't win the Heisman against Pacific.

McCoy played against two quality defenses this year - OU and Nebraska. Just look at McCoy's stats in those two games. He did not play well in those two games. He just didn't. I'm sorry...

You don't win the Heisman by lighting up UTEP, Baylor and Texas A&M.

If you want to give him a "Lifetime Achievement Award"...fine. You'll get no complaints from me. But Colt McCoy wasn't the best college football player this season. He just wasn't...

There were games that Saban pulled Ingram out early. He could have played him more for the stats alone but didn't cause that wasn't in the best interest of his team. Stanford wouldn't have won what they did without Gerhart.

those of you saying "this guy meant more to his team" etc just have no idea what you're talking about. colt mccoy is the best college football player AND the most valuable to his team, although the heisman should go to the best football player overall, not the mvp, that award is for the pros, not college
