    Default Man vs. Vegas

I was just watching this show on CMT (Country Music Television) called Man vs. Vegas. The premise is some guy who lost $3mil in Vegas, and now he is bringing $1mil back, and is going to try to win it all back. Let me say, unless the whole show is rigged, and CMT is going to pay him or something, this guy has no chance. First of all, he goes on tilt whenever he loses, and he uses the exact opposite of optimal betting strategy. Not to mention that he gives money away all the time to other people in the casino.

If he's playing blackjack, slots, craps, or roulette, he's got no chance. If he's betting sports or playing poker, he may have somewhat of a chance. Either way, I think he's screwed.

It may be a stunt Vegas is pulling....The one thing that Vegas does want is for recreational/amateur bettors (as opposed to professionals) to win and win big at that because they know of 3 things will happen:

    (1) Recreational bettor is likely to tell all his/her friends, family, co-workers, mail carrier, preists, and anyone who is willing to listen. Thus, it is free advertising for Vegas (i.e. unpaid media).

    (2) Recreational bettor is likely to give back to Vegas. It may take a long time but eventually all that money will go right back to where it came from.

    (3) It gives the impression that Vegas is beatable. Once the recreational bettor tells all their friends, the friends will say if you can do it, so can I.

I'll go with JJ on this one....it's probably rigged like everything else on television

Some of the early shows about behind the scenes work in Vegas hotel/casinos were ok, but I can't think of anything more boring than watching people bet on table games. That was old the first time I watched it.

I'm thinking this is rigged and he wins to make people think they can beat Vegas. Great advertising for any of the casinos involved.
