Did it already start at the theatre? We're usually at least a week or two behind down here it seems on the new flicks.

    Default Hellman's or Mirracle whip?

I wonder if at the end of the movie they will show the guy from the Smithsonian dismembering Dillingers massive tool ''always wanted to use that Penthouse forum phrase.hehe!''Did he use a Hellman's,Kraft or Mirracle Whip jar to store it in?Anyone believe that story?I'll bet tour guide types and librarian types at the Smithsonian get asked about it all the time by kids of today who don't give a damn what they say.

All throughout the area a couple hours south of me you have criminal landmarks.I go by Little Bohemia resort all the time where Dillinger had his big shootout.Al Capone's hideout isn't far from there.Al's brother owned a bar in Manitowish Waters,Wisconsin near Little Bohemia and me and a friend talked to him for an hour and didn't know he was Al's brother until we got home and a few months later they read his bio on tv when he died.Ma Barker and her boys had a place up here and so did Baby Face Nelson.St.Paul,Minnesota was absolutely sin city back in the day and it was like Batman where all the villains hid out there. The sheriff and everyone in office were on the take and left them alone.Old Timers all talk about being little kids where there were Dillinger sightings in little towns and it was the biggest event in a kids life keeping an eye out for him where they thought they would get a reward.

I had relatives in Chicago and they thought I was nuts on a visit there where I asked them where the Biograph theatre and St.Valentines Day massacre garage was so I could see it when I was a kid.

I saw Public Enemies on Monday night. I thought it was excellent. Moves a little slow in the middle, but overall a great movie.

Personally,I never was a fan of Johnny Depp !
However ,to be honest ,I have only seen him in one movie ,and that was years ago .
I thought him to be typecast,a pretty boy, unable to play tough acting roles ?Is he "that" good ?
I may be wrong here ?

Depp is amazing. From what I've heard he's also one of the only reasons to see this movie.

Abe, I don't know where you're getting the typecast pretty boy thing from. He's played some excellent and definitely diverse characters in Blow, Pirates of the Caribbean, Edward Scissorhands, Fear and Loathing, Sweeney Todd, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, etc.

Okay Dr.Stale !I am downloading this movie as of now.
I will give an acting report on J.D. tomorrow .
This may be one of the few things in life I am really good at ?
    So trust my judgement ...

Don't forget Blow, loved that film. Would take Depp over Pretty Boy DiCaprio any day. Depp is supposedly also going to play Tonto in a new Lone Ranger movie?! That's certainly intriguing, but the one he is supposedly working on right now that I'm really keen to see is Happy Days (not the Fonz TV show). Pretty quirky storyline on that, a bit of a Harold & Maude deal, perfect for Depp.

I saw Public Enemies recently here in town. I've never been sat inside of a smaller, more uncomfortable movie theater in my entire life. The seats squeaked, the floor was dirty, and you just had the feeling of being inside a single row airplane. Still, I enjoyed the film although I did not appreciate it as much until I read this review from Roger Ebert.

Blow was the first movie I mentioned.

Probably my favorite Depp performance and definitely one of my favorite films. JD knocks it out of the park.

The Lone Ranger deal definitely interests me and im also very much looking forward to his role as The Mad Hatter in an Alice in Wonderland remake due out next year. Hadn't heard about Happy Days, I'll have to check that out.

Is BLOW the movie where some guy flips his gal over on her belly on the bed
    and does the"obvious" ?
If it is ,now ,"that" is probably the main reason for enjoying the movie so much ?

Pretty disappointing movie. Impossible not to love Depp, but this movie is one-dimensional. There is nothing more to the character than just being a bank robber. He's not conflicted, we don't know what drove him to this lifestyle, his past is unknown.

    Okay "young" Dr.Stale!
Here is my report on this movie and J.D. .
The more interesting part of the movie was the last 20 minutes.
As far as the shootouts, I still could not see with all of the darkness, who was killing who ? I would rate this movie a 71/2,or 8 out of 10 .This was no cheap movie to produce ,so they will be lucky if they make a whole bunch of money on this one .
Johnny came across as someone with a stiff personality, not what I thought History had shown Dillinger to be ?From what I have read ,and the pictures I saw of him ...he had a loose and carefree personality .
Watching Johhny Depp act guarantees me that I have seen at least 40 male stars from the past[40's/70's] that would have played Dillinger with a much greater presence on screen.
I'll name just a few from the past that could have made the Dillinger portrayal more believable ,and with much more masculine approach.
    Here is a handful...Burt Lancaster,Kirk Douglas,Paul Newman,Charles Bronson,Jack Palance,Van Heflin,Robert Ryan,Earnest Borgnine,,I am getting too emotional,...so I can't go on !
    I loved these guys !
