Default Any suggestions on a football preview magazine for this season?

As usual, a ton of magazines are out. Anyone have a preference for what they buy? I have thumbed through a few of them.

Phil Steele FTW, Reload. But I don't bother with the national magazine, call him up at NorthCoast Sports and order the package of the six regional magazines. With those you get three pages per team (more than any other publication) plus a ton a FCS division stats and previews. It's $45, and in my experience, they always end up sending me a complimentary copy of the national magazines for both the NFL and college just before the beginning of the season in an attempt to get me to buy his picks. This is truly the best money a college foots handicapper can invest in before the season.

Also the Blue Ribbon yearbooks are spectacular, but they won't be out for another month or so.

I agree Phil Steele puts out one of the best college football annuals for sure. It's helped me in some seasons before. I didn't know he had regional issues also - will have to check those out.

If you wager on college football, Phil Steele is by far the best as it provides lines for the past five seasons.
Lindy's, Athlon, and Sporting news often prove to be somewhat accurate. According to Stassen.com the publications rate like this-
    1. Phil Steele
    2. Athlon
    3. Lindy's
    4.The Sporting News
    5. Street and Smith
    6. Jim Fiest
    7. Game Plan
    8.ATS consultants
    9. Blue Ribbon
    (Stassen.com)

But if you want the most accurate top 25 check out footballmoney's revised top 25 (LOL)

I don't think Jim Feist has had one in a few years. Use to be a pretty good one when it was out though.

Looks good, Fish. A package with all 5 of the regionals for $24.95 + $5 shipping sounds pretty worth it to me.

Phil Steele is the choice, and it isn't even close.

And follow Rogue's advice. Get the 5 regionals with the detailed preview of each team. It is worth the 30 bucks or so.

While I have seen some of Steele's college previews before, how does his NFL preview stack up? Are any others more worth it for NFL in anyone's opinion?

Phil Steele's NFL Preview book is okay, but the layout is even more tortured than his college football books. I've taken to ordering the SportingNews preview since they bought out Street & Smith and starting offering those books as their own, as they were my favorite even before the buyout.

I thought Lawrence had a playbook for the season?

    How about Dr Bob?

If Dr. Bob has one, I think it would cost too much
