Default Bill Dozer and SBR, Can I Get Your Opinions on the Safety of Some Books

    NBA is here! Yes!

Been a while since I saw Johns thread where he gave SBR's opinions on a bunch of books.

Well, I just asked about Actionbets so can I ask about a few books I used last year:

Instantactionsports, megasb.com, ultimate-odds, betatlas, and goldengoose (all C's and C-'s except atlas is C+).

Why don't I give my experiences so I can not feel like such a moocher. I used all these books and was paid by the first 3 as I don't think I ever cashed out at the last two. Was paid fine althought Instantaction was a bit slow.. I asked for a Neteller and they asked me to request on another day. This may have happened twice (I can't totally remember) as for some reason I asked if they could just send a **. They were much better equipped to do that and I had the control number 24 hours later.

So good, paying experiences with these C books, but with the new landscape I just wanted to hear any new thoughts.

It would take quite a bit of reason for me to play at any of them, but if you want to mix a few in your lineup, I would go with Atlas and MegaSB. I am not sure I have ever heard a slow pay from either. MegaSB has very good customer service, but their odds aren't anything too special IMO.

You're asking for the value of colored pieces of glass when you can have real gems. Sticking with A books gives you the best shot at avoiding unnecessary trouble. SBR has already done the work for you.

The past months have been a time of real scrutiny in this field for me. By the time the 270 day period is over (see internet gambling legislation), my only remaining books will be: Pinnacle, Greek, WSEX, Cascade, Matchbook. All five are on SBR Odds, and together they integrate into one Superbook that offers pretty much everything I'm looking for.

GL with putting together your own prized collection.

Of this dubious group I would post up w/betatlas if those were my ONLY choices.

    NGT,

BetAtlas is the main brand from the Horizon Sports Group. Atlas received a few upgrades in the past year after Horizon ownership officially backed them. Horizon has a diversified business and wanted to push something strictly post-up. The site got a makeover and new options last year with the help of Gary Thomson, formerly of CRIS. Atlas could be a B- in the near future.

Ultimate-Odds is one to definitely pass on for now. The books is operated by Capilleira Gaming which has a sketchy past. They have worked with some stiff/slow-payers like 4SportsPicks and are currently servicing DragonWager who owes some big money by small book standards. Owner of Capilleira told us he would be taking over accounting this week for all books he services and any new books that join them. They only claim responsibility for WagerDaily and Ultimate-Odds but it's hard to ignore the turnkey site problems.

GoldenGoose is a new small book operated by Chimera. Chimera is a small turnkey operation that used to have 724Sports as its main brand before it was taken under Horizon. Chimera's people have a good reputation, back their turnkey sites and have ties to BLR software.

InstantActionSports had a rough patch this past year. Their sister site Envivo, slow-paid some winners. They renounced ownership and said they were helping the "webmaster" wrap things up. Instant Action had problems keeping up with Neteller requests twice this year. Players had to take ** and complained that they were charged for fees. Fees were reimbursed and all players were paid from both shops. This wasn't their first rough patch but no players have been stiffed or cheated.

MegaSB is small book that we hear very little about. Most feedback is regarding their outdated site and confusing wagering pages. They have an odd model that shouldn't work with -104 juice and paying interest on balances. At one time they gave 6% interest. This looks like a TopCat sports type of operation where they are content not to market online and if they started, they would have to change the business model quick. The site appears to be hosted in Malaysia.
