Why Does the Average Gambler lose?
First off it has to be 80% money management. If the average gambler had a strict money management plan, they would not chase or put it all on one game and lose. Second, I think they are not informed correctly and they just want action so for baseball they take the best pitcher with high juice and lose. Games should be 50/50 chance but it seems like 80% of gamblers lose. Why is that?

Would agree that bad money management is number one and overcoming the vig is number two.
I would also say that the "fever" to bet more frequently than really wanting to gets to most average gamblers also. Most gamblers have to be a lot more selective than they generally are. Too much money bet just because a game is on TV or getting a tip from a loud-mouthed tout.

2) chasing
3) can't handicap numerically
4) money management? YGTBSM
5) and yes, the vig

Placing to many bets, and bad money management.

Placing too many -EV bets. There is nothing wrong with betting a lot of games if they are all +EV.
It is better to bet 50 games with a 3% edge than bet 10 games with a 10% edge.
Then again, the "average" bettor may not be able to spot +EV that easily, so maybe the fewer bets, the better for him. And if he makes a lot of -EV bets, 0 bets would be appropriate even with a sound money management plan.

EXACTLY
i don't care if your money management is superb.. i don't care if you NEVER chase, or dont bet tv games.. or only bet 2 games a week.. all this is IRRELEVANT.. IF you are laying -110 on everything, you are not shopping for best prices and you are betting -EV on every game, YOU WILL LOSE..
The key is to bet +ev bets or you have zero chance.. even if you are discipline, not chase, etc etc..
It won't make any diff at all.. you will still lose..

DOnt bet so much daily. Play 3-4 games a week if that.
You dont need to bet ALL the time, just find something you want in life, bet to WIN and there you go, you make money

Hit the nail on its head
Control the urge.
Also alot of people loose most after they loose, that loosing run isn't just bad luck, its psychological, a combination of chasing, anger, lack of rational thinking and desperation cause people to think like loosers.

and the worst is when you win and go large the next day- after a big win dont bet the next day

Arrogance is a winners worst enemy, people go on a run, get big-headed, make a stupidly huge wager then wonder how they lost it all.

The average bettor loses because it feels good to win a bet. It's that simple.
He likes the feeling, so places another bet, only this time with a lowered advantage, because he wants the feeling again.
The solution? The discipline to stay away. Passing is an active choice.
Only bettors who, over a number of years, have developed enough strong systems to cover the spectrum of major sports are in a position to bet every day. And they're being paid by those who haven't.
