Default ATTN SBR: Bodog Poker will be changing it's name to Gravedog Poker soon...

I have been with Bodog Poker for 2 years now, I play under the alias/username of 'HungQver'. Many of you may of seen me at your table or at many of SBR's well organized tournaments. I play at Bodog for the smaller fields and decent guarantees. But since I have been with Bodog, they have made 2-3 drastic changes to their tournaments. I hate to say it but this 4th change to their tournaments will cause me to pull out soon and not be affiliated with them anymore.

Today, I am informing you guys that Bodog Poker has changed most all of their tournaments:

*100k Sunday Guaranteed (109b/i): Increased previous 109buy-in to 162.

*15k daily Guaranteed (60b/i): Decreased guarantee to 10k.

*10k daily Guaranteed (215b/i): Decreased guarantee to 5k.

*8k rebuy daily Guaranteed (50r/b): Gone.

*6k/5k daily Guaranteed (22b/i): Gone.

*5K/5k/4k rebuy/buy in daily Guaranteed (12r/b, 22r/b, 11b/i): Decreased guarantee to 3k.

*3k rebuy daily Guaranteed (10r/b): Decreased guarantee to 2k.

*2.5k rebuy Guaranteed (5r/b): Gone.

*2k/2k SS/Beginner daily Guaranteed (13b/i, 8.80b/i): (SS) Increased previous 13buy-in to 33. (Beginner) Decreased to 1k.

*1.5k daily Guaranteed (7.7b/i): Gone.

*1k rebuy daily Guaranteed (3r/b): Gone.

*Satellites have all been changed as well.

R.I.P Bodog Poker soon to be Gravedog Poker

If I had all the answers then my new name would be god.

Just messing with you King. A lot of it has to do with the fact that they have lost a lot of money because of poor attendance in their tournaments. But that shouldn't mean drive away more of your players by adjusting your T's, instead think of more ways to attract more players...

Yeah. Eh - I've never liked them. I only play there when they have these SBR freerolls. I would always play on Pokerstars. I haven't touched online Poker in a long time though (besides the freerolls)

You ever try PS?

Yeah, you're right about that...there's always a big field in their tournaments. It would pissed me off!

Cant even get a payout from Pokerstars right now and ya gotta admit its hard to blame Bodog for adjusting their guarantees, I dont play on Bodog anymore but back a year and a half or so when I did they basically were giving away money in their guaranteed tourneys to where I thought it must be rigged it was so ridiculous but I figured it was just kinda like a promo to attract players and now with prolly even less players I imagine they just shoveled money (assuming not rigged) into their tourney players pockets.

If the only thing you did was play in their guaranteed tourneys that they were losing a fortune on how are they going to miss you?

Are you BSing about being a regular player in their tourneys or just playing stupid about not knowing that ONLY reason for the change is the overlays? Obviously bodog is getting tired of paying these as they were never/rarely being meet... I play in the 100k on Sunday and nightly 15k simi-regularly and they almost always had huge 30K+ and 5K+ overlays... I don't like missing out on a good opportunity but I'm not going to play dumb like I don't know the reason for the change...

One thing that I do like is the increase in buyin in the Sunday 100k... Personally I quit playing the big field 200+15 on pokerstars and fulltilt (even though I thought they had some the weakest fields of big buy in events online) because it took so much of a time investment just to cash/get deep... While the overlay being reduced or gone will suck, I kindof like that the higher buy-in will produce a smaller field in this case and I wouldn't be surprised if there still was an overlay as at the current numbers it would have just barely been being met...Hopefully the field will also be softer if some the nit overlay advantage hunters who think bodog is willing to keep needlessly giving away hundreds of thousands each week actually leave like they are threatening to do...

Best of luck with the rest of the nits at pokerstars as if you only play multi-table tourneys their point reward system will suck for you and, like every other site post-UIGEA, and they have significantly decreased the frequency of their reload bonuses while greatly increasing the clearing rate for the rare ones they do give...

You are about 2 or 3 years late to the game AZ...

I dont know about you, but I played there every single day for the last 2 years, rarely missing any days inbetween because of going out on weekends, some holidays, and such. No offense Herbie, but you have only been on Bodog poker for 5 months so tournament guarantees and buy-in adjustments have not greatly affected you. I have been around to see 3-4 (permanent until more changes takes effect) adjustments, and each time it drove away more and more players. Bodog use to run a 50k DoubleStack tournament, imagine that. They also ran a 20k daily for 44$ buy-in, 10k daily for 22$ b/i (which was adjusted to 6k/5k and now adjusted to 3k), and 3k for 7.5$ b/i.

All I am asking is, what did Bodog Poker do to keep it's players? If a poker site continues to adjust MTT's in reverse, each time they lose more players...Before you know it, only the shark of sharks will be left to compete against one another, no novice players will even want to buy in if it's not affordable. Ex. 5K guarantee for 215$ buy in. Many other poker site are flourishing, getting bigger everyday where they have to increase their guarantees to accomodate their players. Lastly, I have been in the game for 3+ years now, I use to play a lot on PokerStars and even a site called Royal Vegas Poker.

You said you only 'semi-regularly' played 2 tournaments that they offer. That would have little or no affect to you. But if you played 2-5 tournaments a day like myself...you would think more like me.

pstars and ftilt are not paying anyone right now so bodog is one of the only decent trustworthy sites left... sucks about the increases and guarentees but we are running out of credible poker sites to choose from that are not being targeted by the us government..

477 players in the 100k for an overlay of 22.7K total and $47.64 per player over their $162 buyin... Not as much value as before but still nothing to complain about compared to what pokerstars and fulltilt gives back to their players...

i doubt they are "losing" money im sure they aren't meeting their quota or whatever their standard income is. they have the casino sportsbetting im sure they are doing just fine. ppl are scared to play online becaue they aren't getting paid or afraid they won't get played. bodog has always had low number of players and its finally catching up with them. nobody wants to shell out free money when you aren't making enough to meet their needs or wants. pretty simple. bodog doens't care if they lose a few players here and there. im sure things will get better. did you try emailing them about it.....?

nice to know. still probablly won't play there again though. Thought there was some cheating going on in one of there rooms 2 years ago and I haven't returned. I know it goes on everywhere, but I'd rather play at the bigger name poker sites. Full Tilt and Pokerstars.

I have steadily lost interest in Bodog after playing there daily for few years. The only thing left for me there is the 100k qualifiers which are now down to 10 seats guaranteed and the actual Sunday 100k tournament. I also still find quite a few forum games to play there along with their ring games action is still great good. Bodog is still a great payday but mainly on weekends. Withdrawals have always been fast at Bodog. I find Cake Network the best and alot of fun with non stop action.

one good thing about it being gravedog poker is that it gives SBR alot of alot of money in freerolls to get us there.............if they had tons of people playing like in the old days this woulld probally be a 50.00 freeroll verus to a 500.00 one
