Any sportsbooks taking action on Nathans hot dog eating contest on the 4th?
Who's the favorite to win this thing,Kobayashi or Sonya the black widow Thomas?I still think it should be an hour contest and not 10 minutes. This stuff is crazy, there is bound to be a casualty soon at one of these events. My hunch is someone will bite their tongue and bleed to death.Sonya weighs a little over 100 pounds and eats something like 45 hot dogs with buns and a gallon of lemonade during an eating contest.Wouldn't want to be around that woman the next day.
They need the big black guy from Seinfeld that manages Monk's coffee shop to bitch at people for bringing their own condements to the contest.Love that dollar dtore dijon mustard,it makes the dogs and bratwurst.

Is Ed Cookie Jarvis relegated to being the very capable,Sodbuster Kenny Jaye of the competitive eating contest world? You would have had to have gotten Vern Gagne's All Star Wrestling out of WTCN tv in Minneapolis to know who Kenny Jaye was.In every match he would teeter on the brink of pinning his opponent when he turned it on as announcer Roger Kent would say.He would blow his wad and then get pinned a few seconds later.Every once in awhile they would match a flunkie against a flunkie and I think Kenny Jaye would beat George Scrap Iron Gadasky from Great Falls,Montana who's claim to fame was dying during a match.Kenny's biggest claim to fame was getting in the ring with Muhamad Ali and fighting dirty annoying Ali.

In 2008 the regulation time went to 10 minutes instead of 12 minutes. Chestnut and Kobayashi both put down 59 dogs in the 10 minute time limit. Then in OT, Chestnut put down 5 more dogs in 50 seconds. Chestnut also set the record of 66 dogs in 2007, but that was in the 12 minute time limit.
