Thats because people tend to think we are a NFL team.

Hahaha... Or maybe some passionate fans tend to think their team is a little better than they really are

The SEC is the best confrence and anybody who follows college football knows that. The Big 12 has narrowed the margin considerably though. Oklahoma and Texas continue have quality recruiting classes.
    Confrence Ranking in my opinion-
    1. SEC
    2. Big 12
    3. ACC
    4. Big 10 (Years past was much stronger)
    5. Pac 10
    6. MWC
    7. Big East
    8. CUSA
    9. WAC
    10.MAC
    11. Sun Belt

    Big XII.

    This year and last.

SEC fluffers will say two things:

    1. SEC plays better defense.

    2. UF beat OU.

    2A. Ole Miss beat TT.

    Response:

-OU held UF to a season low. How's that for D?
-OU was playing without DeMarco Murray.
-OU was the 2nd best Big XII team against the SEC's best by far.
-2nd best SEC team lost to a non-BSC conference school.
-Crabtree was injured and TT was never the same after 11/22. They nearly lost to Baylor at home the game before the Cotton.
    -Texas smothered Arkansas into oblivion.

It's a total myth that the SEC is better going into this season. Go look at 2010 mock draft board and tell me which conference is putting the best athletes on the field in '09.

-UF held OU to a season low. They had scored 60+ in there last 5 Big 12 games, is that defense??? Florida held them to 14!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    - UF won the national championship
-Best team in the Big 12 squeeked by OSU (which lost previously to SEC schools 14-41 and 24-38)
    - Since were tossing in the injury bug, Alabama was without Andre Smith
    - The non-bcs school you mention has won two BCS games in the last five years(more than the whole Big 10)
    -SEC does play better defense
-National chamionships this decade SEC 4, Big 12 2.
-Confrence bowl records SEC 6-2, Big 12 4-3

The big 12 has closed the gap but SEC is still number 1. I am not an SEC fan but they do play the best football.

SEC, and it is not really that close. And things won't change until Big 12 teams start playing consistent defense week to week.

two different styles.........but the edge must go to the SEC. Lets see how the "cookie crumbles" before we make judgements. I think the big 12 south is really strong but the north is not...

Texas and Ok are the strong teams but lets rate the conferences side by side. The north is Kansas this year>??? A little lopsided if you ask me............

Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss, LSU top four......

Oklahoma, Texas...................then who? Kansas? surely not Mizzou........OK state?
    Top to bottom...............SEC.

Big12 north will be much improved this year. The SEC is however the better conference top to bottom. Defense is always the key to championships and the SEC's defenses are better.

It should be another great season.

Big XII probably but... SEC is better at home w/ the humidity factor, nothin quite like a game at Death Valley

yes yes Death Valley is a beast....

But Big XII is not the better conference

UT grad, hook 'em Horns! SEC is to deep they are #1 conference in football can take only 2 teams each year from Big 12 but could be 4 and 5 teams from SEC that can kick ass.

SEC....even the teams at the bottom are solid !!

SEC is clearly better. OU, texas and Ok st will all be top 10 teams with OU and texas being top 5. But the SEC has LSU, ALABAMA, FLORIDA, Ole Miss, and they will all be in the top 10. With missouri losing 3/4 of their team they will be looking at a down year and the big 12 just cant put up a 4th team that could compete with the SEC, maybe nebraska but seriously thats not much.

have not looked it up for all the teams, however, the strength of schedule has to be higher for the SEC teams.

  22. #22

sec better defense, big 12 better offense, but after florida, there is a decent drop off.............texas and ou would be the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the sec right now, right behind florida

I think until another conference manages to wrestle the National Championship out of the SEC's hands, they win bydefault. And even when that does happen it might depend on how the SEC beat up on each other.

Noone is giving UGA any love. They will compete for a top spot this year. BCS game and maybe a MNC.
