PGA Tour Golf - AT&T National
All Bets Are Betting WITHOUT Tiger Woods
Anthony Kim I Unit Win @ 18-1 & 1 Unit Top 5 Finish @ 9-2 (BET365)
Won this last year, finished 16th in the US Open and 11th last week, looks to be in best form for a while. I love this play, especially playing it with Tiger out of the equation.
Ryan Moore 1 Unit Win @ 35-1 & 1 Unit Top 5 Finish @ 8.75-1 (Paddy Power)
Missed three straight cuts and then finished 10th in the US Open & 4th in the Travelers so has obviously found some sort of form.
Stuart Appleby 1/2 Unit Win @ 90-1 & 1/2 Unit Top 5 Finish @ 22.5-1 (Totesport)
Seventh in this in 2005 and third in 2007. Although he has no worth while form of late, he obviously loves this course and was 30th in The Masters. 90-1 is a fair price without Woods.
Chris Riley 1/2 Unit Win @ 150-1 & 1/2 Unit Top 5 Finish @ 37.5-1 (BET365)
Last three finishes on Tour read 23, 29, 23, wouldn't take much to break through.
All bets are WITHOUT Tiger Woods. 6 Units Invested.

Agree with you on Kim, going to look at it a bit more tomorrow. Sort of the tune-up for the Open Championship that is not too far off now.

If you take Tiger at like +150 and field like +150 it is not a bad bet actually

JJ you lost me. Are you saying you can get +150 on both of those outcomes?

I think his "field" does not include the whole actual field.

Rebatewager had Tiger at +150 then they had like 20 names with odds and then all other golfers (field +150)

You're unfortunate to say the least. His last three finishes have been 23,29, and 23, so I figured that was either his high water mark or he was close to breaking through, which in turn made it impossible not to bet at 150-1. As it is he's three-over-par whilst the other three selections are 1st, 8th & 19th.
I feel bad for you.

It's nice when it happens exactly the way you called it.
It's been a while since I realised how much more enjoyable golf betting can be when you bet without Tiger!

It's all good.. I should've played it safer and went with your Kim pick, but I wanted the higher payout

The moral of the story is to bet less and split your money across all four, that's why I always try to use a Unit value for each pick so that people wishing to tail can get an idea of the perceived strength of each play.
A $10 Unit play would have cost 60 Bucks this week.

Yeah, I'll take note of that next week... Was just thinking I'd only take one guy and see if you called out the high-paying underdog...
Oh well.. Hope Kim gets it for you this week...

Fade Tiger Woods for the rest of his career. His knee is damaged goods and it affects his game more than you think. Ever since he married the Swede bomb his knees are always empty resulting in golf injuries.

Thanks Ssshhh, we picked a good week to play without Woods but given it's his own tournament it was pretty easy to do.

No other way to say it, Kim bottled not only his chance of winning but his chance to show he can look Tiger in the eye on a Sunday afternoon. His tee shots were woeful (left, left, left) and his putting cracked under pressure.
I've no doubt he can win tournaments but the surprise factor has gone for him and he'd need to be in a weaker type tournament at a decent price for me to go in again, I saw a lot of downside in Kim on the last day.
Had a really good run from two of my other three, lost half-a-unit.

I agree, but from a betting point of view he's someone you've got to take very much on trust because his putting definetly didn't hold up from medium range when he needed to make them on the final day and that's worrying if you're considering investing.

Mike I nailed last two tour events, I mean this one was a small profit but a win is a win on pga tour.
Look forward to your next tourney write up
