This debate has come up before I think. But I just dont think the best college team could beat the worst NFL team. But the Raiders are close.Originally Posted by tribet

The Raiders would dominate the Buckeyes in every aspect of the game. It would not be a contest. It would be equivalent to the disparity that exists between Ohio State and Temple.

There was a article about a few years back on if a pro team faced USC. One linesmaker in vegas said that the pro team would be favored by 24 points.Originally Posted by dave11486

I think the books would be perfectly happy to see that. I say 41.5 because that's just about the ceiling and this is the type of matchup where you almost can't set the number too high. USC a couple of years ago (even though 24 is a bogus response knowing it would never come to fruition) was different because they so closely resembled a pro setup. Ohio State does not. The line play on both sides of the ball would be disastrous for the Buckeyes.Originally Posted by dave11486

I would think the line would be Raiders -46.5 and I would bet them too.

Ohio St. would do alright IMO...

The only team in recent years that I would have given a chance of staying within single digits would have been '95 Nebraska, just because of the unique style of offense and the dominant defense.

About as well as 11 random people on this forum would do against Man U.Originally Posted by tribet

Wasnt that the option based Huskers?Originally Posted by Razz
Do you really think that option based offense would last against a NFL team defense?
I think they would shut them down fairly easy. The option wont work in the NFL.

The 1985 Oklahoma team was a much better option team with Hollaway at QB. IMO

It would never work long term. However, I think that in a one-game scenario an option-based offense could give an NFL defense trouble.Originally Posted by onlòóker

Fair enough.Originally Posted by Razz
I just think the adjustments would be made quicker in the NFL, and it wouldnt be to much trouble.
Anyone have any other teams that they think could give the NFL problems? This is good stuff.
