They're a Sportingbet book, right? The Neteller/cheque thing gives me that impression as well.

To be honest, I don't think that's the worse sponsor out there (although of course there are loads of better books). I was at EOG and couldn't believe the amount of shit sponsors that had. It must be a crap job being a moderator there and having to defend a whole host of shit sponsors.

Former World Gaming licensees downgraded to D-
One-time B- rated sportsbook, Gambling.net has been lowered to D- along with Sportsbetting.com. Both sportsbooks were hosted and serviced by the Sportingbet offices in Costa Rica while holding a licensing agreement and domain name leasing contract with World Gaming Plc. BetOnUSA (SBR rating D-) parent company, Empire Entertainment Ltd. has purchased the World Gambling service contracts. These sites are expected to be managed by BetOnUSA and its staff in the near future. Players are advised to redeem balances at this time.

I read about world gaming financial problems so I requested 3 withdrawals from sportsvetting.com in the last 2 weeks and was paid the next day. My current balance is ZERO!

So they pulled that fedex crap often huh...funny, I remember they said they dont know how that could happen

When i requested a stop on the check and an immediate Neteller payment they said it could take a month or more if i dont send it back to them...i got pissed and said something like "fine ill just tell SBR". You prolly guessed it, they paid me via Neteller the same day

I always liked this book. Never had any problems. They had a nice selection of summer sports but that was later reduced.

The WG licensed ops were picked up by BetOnUSA. Bob Day has left Gambling.net and the domain owner has either sold to the new host or become silent. The D-s were inherited.

What about BetUSA? I see they are still a C in your rating guide.

I can't make any sense of the WG/Sportingbet organizational structure so your advice is appreciated. If you have ever tried explaining exactly how all these entities function under the WG software provider's umbrella I'd love to see it.

FWIW my withdrawal requests in the low to mid four figures when the SB exec was first detained in NY and again when their stock crashed due to legislation were both paid to NT in a few days as usual.

    Same question for Hollywood.

Not sure what to do here, OT1H I'm addicted to having them as an out since they often offer nice lines but OTOH I don't want to get burned. I've reduced my positions but I need some funds to make bets and my avg bet is 4 figs. I'm non US if that matters.

It's very confusing but is about to get a lot simpler. They structured these relationships in order to be able to do whatever they wanted while being a public company. I'm sure they had meetings where they were sitting around the table saying "wait, what do I own?" You own how much of this and this is a subsidiary of that?"

I believe Sportingbet now owns World Gaming software. Supposedly there was a clause in the partnership contract where if one of the companies defaulted, the other would get the software.

Sportingbet Plc had a service center in Costa Rica and has one in the UK. The books run out of the UK are the ones they still have and have no relationship with World gaming. It is an all-around better run business with few player complaints. The good URLs they chose to keep will now be operated out of London.

The ones in CR were sold to Jezzette or Jetset or whatever they are calling it. This CR office serviced most of the books that used World Gaming. They also service sites that had their partnership contract with World Gaming Plc (company not actual software). There were other licensees running their operation out of this building. I think it was St Johns that was created so that some webmasters could use their choice of poker such as Boss vs. Paradise. For all intents and purposes this was the same company. Same service, lines and floor managers. Like BOS, they had Antigua licenses so they could use the country's banking.

If you were a webmaster, you had the final say on player issues and could even add your own lines or change odds. You could also receive email which effectively offered users two service centers. Few took an active roll and most stick to marketing. Some just own a good url and collect their % check.

That's why BetUSA was able to take control of much of their operation. Players still had to put up with a poor 1st line of service but they but have the benefit of different decision makers to go with the positives (like CC processing) of playing with the giant company.

Although both Gambling.net and BetonUSA were owned by the same company. They entered into domain leasing contracts with the different hosts, Sportingbet Plc for BetonUSA and WG for Gambling.net. These licensers took care of the infrastructure but it was really the same operation. When BetOnUSA (IEE ltd.) bought WG's contracts for about 6 million, Gambling.net owners did not chose to continue with the new company. This would have made 3 different physical sites for them. BetUK is run in the Uk, BetUSA is through the Jezzete group and Gambling.net and the other WG lic's sites are now run through BetONusa which is sprinkled everywhere including Canada. IEE ltd is the 2nd biggest, and possibly only other operation using World Gaming.

The word License is overused. It applies to the software license, the hosting license as well as the Gaming license in Antigua.

Hollywood is structured differently but it is still a licensee and was never wholly owned by Sportingbet the PLC. I recall Sportingbet having to dispute the press release by Hollywood for legal reasons. Players had the benefit of Hollywood's Mgt team in tact and a different set of decision makers. Players won’t notice better daily service or accounting from Hollywood but they won't stand for balance confiscations the way Sportsbook.com has. Sportsbook.com used to be a C/C+ operation before the attacks on "advantage" players.

You're right, these books are a convuluted mess. I'm thinking of how best to conceptualize them, let me know what you think:

    1) Sportingbet. The press release said that sites like wallstreet, aces, and sportingbet.com were going to be ratained by SportingbetPLC but if you look at some of these sites right now they said they are unaffiliated. I THINK that this is only for the time being while they shift customers to other urls and then take back these names.

    2) Jazette. All the US-facing books with a zillion names- bubbascasino, athomesportsbook, ezbets, etc, etc.

    3) Allhorse, BETUK, BETUSA (you said BETUSA was a Jazette book, again my weak understanding was different so just trying to confirm) Hollywood, Allstar- do these all belong together as somehow having SPECIAL status?

    4) Empire. These are the D- books that now include Beton USA, Gambling.net and Sportsbetting.com

Whew! How bad did I butcher this?

Thank you for that detailed explanation Bill. I have a few followup questions.

Can you list those? Will these now use a different line? I visited BetUK and saw they weren't offering -105 NFL or CFB on Friday.

Should BetUSA therefore remain the same now as before? If I understand correctly they will still be using the same lines and catering to US players, albeit less of them.

Although both Gambling.net and BetonUSA were owned by the same company. They entered into domain leasing contracts with the different hosts, Sportingbet Plc for BetonUSA and WG for Gambling.net. So Hollywood will also be Jezzette run, using the same lines and still cattering to US players just like BetUSA correct?

Any others offering the same lines and better security from failure or the confiscations you referenced? I understand none of these are Pinnacle or Cris but just looking for the safest access to the most lines.

Thank you for all your help.
