AQoff is an overrated hand, especially in big bet poker (NL or PL).

AQ is a trap hand. Read Doyle's analysis in Super System.
I got KK 3 times in a row once. Unfortunately it was a SH table, and I didn't win any humungus pots. I don't think any of the KK's saw a showdown.

I got black kings 4 straight tournies at Lucky Chances a couple years ago, it was the daily tourney for 115 or whatever, and I lost every single time. The worst was when I lost to AJ and the dealer didn't supposedly burn a card, but I was only told after the river brought the 2nd jack on the boardOriginally Posted by slacker00

1/2 million+ hands AQ off-suit won about 16%

**, there are no bad hands just bad flops.Of the 4 hands none were helped on the flop. I played the 3rd one (i think) to the river because of a possible nut flush.

May be a trap hand, but I bet Sam and most players would take looking down and seeing them four hands in a row any time. I would.

I would love to have them EVERY HAND. With judicious folding I could retire and play fulltime. However, the card-cam on ESPN would get me heat

Not neccessarily. If you overvalue this hand, you'll win a lot of small pots with it, but you'll lose the majority of big pots you get involved with.Originally Posted by lakerfan
Late in a tourney, the hands you're getting shouldn't matter, because you should be pushing with any two cards. In this scenario, where the hero is playing a fast, aggressive game, a holding like AQ would be solid as most will be putting you on less than marginal hands due to the frequency of your raises.

Nothing inherently wrong with AQ. But If I'm 9 handed UTG on an even slightly tough table I fold it every time. It's just too easy to get into situations where you'll have to get all your money in with the worse hand and there's nothing you can do about it. But, if I'm playing SH, there's nothing sweeter on my eyes than to look down and see AQ. (Except maybe AA, KK, AK & QQ)Originally Posted by lakerfan
