I don't consider myself a recreational gambler but i do like to grab an NBA future pretty much for fun. I try to look for a 2nd tier team that has trade room to make the push or a team that looks good on paper but hasnt had the chemistry.

Im liking Houston so far. Could D. Anderson go injury free? Is there any cap room? A Paul Pierce could put them over top. Maybe a bruiser like Danny Fortson would help.

Brick, mcgrady's back problems would be one of my main concerns with your houston selection. because he never seems to be healthy for an entire year in recent years.

Maybe a good play would be to take Dallas and Sac at +2091 and +3000. If the Spurs miss a beat or Duncan goes down this would be strong at long shot prices.

    Oldetymedowner,

Some of the sharpest people play future bets. You can do a lot with them and even hedge long shots if they make it out of the first round.

Thats exactly what I was thinking since both Shaq and Duncan are injury proned. Last year I played a bunch of west teams when Duncan first went down. I though he would be Grant Hilled. You kinda feel like an asshole needing an injury to make you some money but they are going to happen to someone.

That could be a good one. They put together a good team. Now can the coach make it work.

The payout isn't huge Indiana at +900, but they are the 2nd best in the league, I think there is great value in the Spurs but much smarter to wait let them coast through the regular season, they were at +375 during the playoffs last year at one point.

The best true longshot is the Lakers, Kwame Brown is a talented kid, you never know what Phil Jackson can do to improve him, Mihm, and Odom

At +7498, having Phil on your side wouldnt be so bad.
