    Default Canbet grades wager wrong

So i have a fairly large play on Ball state this morning which lost. I log in to my account tonight and see that Canbet has graded this wager as a win (a net result of +4000) for me. So i weigh my options.. cash out and never play there again.. hope that they dont notice for awhile.. or call in and report their error and see what happens.

So they have always been fair to me and Im not really into stealing so I give them a call and tell them that they screwed up kinda hoping they will throw me some sort of a bone for being a cool guy. After a few minutes on hold the CSR confirms that they made an error and thanks me for calling in and reporting it. Didn't offer me anything which sucked as I could have just ran with the money.

Would you guys have done the same thing?

I find the fact that you guys expect gifts for not robbing someone repugnant. I find the fact that you guys consider robbing someone repugnant. Be honost. Be honorable. Not because "It will come back to you" or something silly and selfish like that. Be honorable because its the right way to live. Be honorable because that's the way you'd expect to be treated.

I've used Canbet for about 8 years and have informed them about bad lines a ton of times, and once about a Neteller withdrawal where the money hit my Neteller account but wasn't deducted from my balance. I never got anything other than a "thank you for your honesty."

they can also come back and get the money back from Neteller if they can show it was given to you in error... Best to just let me know in my opinion....

How does a book go about doing that ? Do they show NT the ticket and the game result , and say debit this guys account ?

I think the likely result is the error gets caught before you cash out ?

    Was Robin Hood honorable?

Does the 'bank error in your favor' Monopoly card send the wrong message to kids?

Until recently WWTS was considered among the most honorable books. But they too had their price. About 9 million.

Now let's say the same WWTS, after freezing your money for a month, came back and made a 50K error in your favor...

All I'm saying is, nothing is absolute in a world of relativity. You have to be in the situation yourself to know for sure what your response would be.

I quit playing there because they are publically traded, and the lines are only decent ( -107) on NFL, everything else is ordinary. They've always been top notch in the past. I think they catch that error before paying it.

Crooks and thieves, thats all that is here. Bonus whores and flat out robbers. Just the thought of you doing this shows the kind of person you really are. Amazing!!

I too informed often books: recently Thepig credidet me a wager twice ($250) and then they removed $250 from my account.

But other books gave me money and prize to have informed them: Gamebookers, Fonbet and Sportbet (but 1-2 years ago)

I'm looking at it from the point of view of what a crooked book can possibly do. If can bet misgrades my bet, and I withdraw it, and they pay it, they were a victim.

Then they want their money back... what do they have to do to get it... just tell NT to deduct that from my account ?

Can a scam joint like older BLUE Marlin do something to cheat the player beyond running with the money ?

Like can a book you've dealt with just say you made a deposit ?, when you didn't ?

If CB pays 4k instead of $400, what do they have to present as proof to NT, say a week later ?

I'm not endorsing theft, just turning it around the other way, to prevent theft by book.

They can present proof of a wrong payment and ask Neteller to sort it out - I presume much the same way that a bank can take back a wrongly credited item whenever they feel like it.

One story I can remember was from a casino scammer who fraudulently ripped off a casino for bonuses from multi-identities and, from what I recall, the casino seemingly debited his Neteller account without any Neteller involvement after realising the fraud. Not the best actions in the world but at least the end result was the right one.

If you play with a decent book, they won't steal from you. It's really that easy.

So then NT is like a book, since they are the main transfer agent for books. They have the expertise to review wagers... bad lines, too ? Do they do dispute resolutions on the side ?

I want to know what the deal is as far as NT's involvement, do they now have opinions on bad lines ?

I'd like a firm statement on this, I don't think NT is a bookie, and thus any decision on such matters be deferred to an entity like SBR ?
